On to the Browns!

Kitchens: "We’re not going in to play a normal team. We’re going in to play the New England Patriots."

He already lost. This comment is why the Browns are the Browns. The Pats are in the same league as you (Not really but still). You can't put another team miles above you because you will try and outsmart yourself...and lose

They have no shot IMO

The Browns are so screwed.

Nah, what he says in the media doesn't matter. Now, if that attitude of "Oh ****, it's the Patriots, we gotta pull out all the stops!" leads him to design dumb plays for silly situations, that's a problem. I'll try to think of an example... hmmm... I guess it would be like, I dunno, if he draws up a fake punt play that leaves a gunner (pretending to be a C) with everyone else lined up incorrectly, trying to catch the Pats with 12 men on the field, but forgets to tell the "C" that he changed the play halfway through the week and he shouldn't snap the ball. Just as a spitball off the top of my head.

Is there a chance Bennett is staying?

Of course there is. It was never a given that he was gone.

EDIT: I just saw his comments in the other thread, so I understand better where you were coming from now. Sorry for the snark.

Okey dokey then....

Sanu changes the dynamic on offense. If Gordon is back that makes 7 players assuming they bring Harry back, which i assume they intend to do. With 2 QBs and 8 OL men they have the ability to do that I think.

QB 2 WR 7 RB 5 OL 8 TE 3 = 25. Still they need to fit in their STers... It will be interesting to see what they do.

I'd think if they were to bother punishing him, they want to change his behavior. If they just wanted to cut or trade him, they would've just done it I think. JMHO.

For me, it will be more interesting to see which TWO WR's are inactive every week.

I don't doubt that could be the case, but if we're only carrying 2 TE's on the gameday roster (where we often have had 3 in the past), what's to say the extra spot couldn't be filled by a 5th WR? I'm counting Slater and Gunner as ST players unless there's an emergency.

Assuming injury doesn't cause someone to be inactive, Jules, Dorsett, Sanu, Gordon are obvious locks. Harry is an enigma. If he looks like the high round, albeit rookie, that some believe he'll be, the Harry v Myers is interesting. Myers is exceeding expectations and you sense Brady and Myers are building a rapport. But Myers' notable upside is, by seeming account, a work in progress to come over seasons. While Harry would appear to have potential upside that could come to fruition rapidly. No doubt, IMHO, Harry showing some sharpness in practice is critical for him to be active on game day. It's no secret BB heavily favors consistency.
Gunner is the PR. Other than one muff he has been solid through 7 games. Man it is never good to go with an unproven quantity at PR when muffs can change a game so quickly.

Yep, interesting to see who is active (again injury could make it a default selection).

With this defense always ending drives and getting turn overs, the Pats are probably averaging many more attempts per game I would figure. Plus often having short fields. Their offense is ranked #1 on nfl.com by whatever metrics they are using.

nfl.com uses "only" total points scored for the ranking, Pats have scored the most points through WK7

I'm not glad that Gordon didn't practice, but the more concerning one (potentially) on that list is Mason. We don't have a lot more wiggle room on this OL.

none of the team practiced today, it was a walk-through which Gordon & Mason were present for. Only player that wasn't was Lacosse

I'm hoping we don't see Gordon until after the bye. The guy that worries me is Mason. We can ill afford to lose another OLman. Christ, do we even know, at this point, who is the back up interior lineman. My guess is Elumanour, but its only a guess. It could be Ferentz, and THAT wouldn't be good.

We will be fine with our current WR's. Meyers is doing well and there's a chance that with Sanu here, maybe we won't need to subject Jules to 12 targets this week. If there's a guy who needs a week off its him. Maybe next week, which would give him 2 weeks to fully recover from the ribs.

OBJ was quoted on NFL live as saying that on the 2 occasions he has faced the Pats, Bill has come up to him before the game and kind of apologized and told him, "there wouldn't be much for him today". Think back to the famous Ocho clip of years ago. Pretty much the same thing.

Except in this case, I'm thinking that Bill will have his #2 CB on him with a man over the top to systematically take him out of the game. Then put Gilmore on either Landry or the other wide out and simply shut him down flat. Probably Bill does both
