Jacoby Brissett: 14 TD - 3 Int through 5 games (updated)

Brissett and the Colts might be the team in the AFC that's best built to actually challenge us. They've got a good balanced offense and a young aggressive D. They're good on the line on both sides of the ball and their secondary is improving.

If we can't stabilize our OL situation, that pass rush is going to give us trouble. It gave Mahomes and Deshaun Watson fits, so unless our OL is on the ball (and knowing BB, it probably will be) they could challenge us.
Defensively they could be troublesome for us, certainly.

But I’m sorry their offense would be shut down by our D. There is only one offense in the AFC that I find legitimately threatening and it is KC when Mahomes is back.

Belichick's first 2 rings were on teams coached by the Tuna.

He came here mostly to get out from under Parcells' shadow. Bill p was a huge part of Belichick's football education. Dude knows what he's talking about when he talked about football.

The ghost of Steve Belichick says “hi” (followed by a diabolical laugh).

Seriously though, from the perspective of today the BB/Tuna partnership was evidently a true symbiosis. A testament to the greatness of the competition in their time together that they only shared two championships. I will always believe that the biggest thing BB got from Tuna was how to lead fearlessly, which if so was indeed a huge element in BB’s eventual greatness as the HC of the NEP

The biggest thing that Tuna got from BB was his knowing how to field a kick butt defense for the Giants. BB's defensive game plan for the SB 35 is enshrined in Canton..

BTW Parcells never won another Superbowl without BB, we all know about how well BB has done on his own.....

Did you see the field they were playing on? I think a couple of players might have drowned.

I hadn't. Ok so the conditions had a lot to do w it.

The contract the colts signed him to is looking like a steal

Idk if it is a steal. He was in the last year of contract and they gave him 28m in new money.

So it basically 1yr 28m (6.5m+rokiee contract/21.5m cap hits). It was pretty risk because he was never a starter, but looks fair now.

Wasn’t a steal. Dorsett has helped this team. There was only one way of showing teams what Jacoby could do - and I, for one, had no interest in a long term Brady injury.

I’m glad for JB. He’s exceeding most expectations. I’m glad for NE. They are winning most SBs.

one of the halftime guys for the Dallas game said Brisette is the best QB in the AFC right now

Well, that is just stupid. Just plain stupid.

I agree with you.

I was talking about the value of the contract.

28m for a guy that was never a starter even with 14TDs-3INT is fair.

Misread. Again, choosing « not a steal ». That is serious change for an unproven player.

On a side note, I think there could be many more quality QBs if they had better coaching and more time.

100% agreed here. There have been a lot of busts that might have had a chance if they had wound up with a competent organization and/or coaching staff.

I would go as far as saying that if Brady had gone to the Jets, he would have been a nobody. Some good things would have happened but in the end, they would have ruined him.

I expect that's true. Unfortunately, you can count the competent coaching staffs in the NFL on the fingers of one hand. And probably have a couple of fingers left over.

They basically signed him to an extra year for $28m.

That looks like a good value now, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it a steal.

Dorsett seems like a good guy and teammate and is trying to do whatever he can to help here....but Indy definitely got the better of that trade by a long shot!!! Brisette has been amazing and seems like their QB for foreseeable future ....Dorsett is inconsistent at best...BB really gave away a lot for little in return for both Brisette and Jimmy G....worst trades of BB career!!!!.

BB the gift that keeps on giving.

There's NWIH they let him play that contract year next year without negotiating an extension. The number he has now is just sa starting point for negotiations

I’m really rooting for him and Handsome Jimmy G. It’s cool to see these guys do well.
I wonder how many people will understand your Handsome Jimmy reference...

I also wonder how many people understand how close we came to going undefeated in 2016, when we had all 3 of Brady, Grop & Brisket for that one & only season...basically 2 or 3 plays here or there...
