The salary cap does not work that way; there are plenty of sources who can tell you exactly how much he’d cost for the Patriots.
- his signing bonus remains the responsibility of Denver
- Denver is responsible for the salary of weeks already passed - so far 6 out of 17 weeks.

His cap hit for the Patriots if acquired this week is in the $6.6M ballpark. If acquired next week, down to $6.0M. The trading deadline week? $5.4M.

Big money, yes. But no where near $12.9M.
