Can we acquire Stefon Diggs?

Or as @MUFC7 mentioned in the “Manny Sanders” thread, TEN WR Corey Davis would be the perfect fit here in NE (talent and most importantly cost wise). He’s young, healthy, talented, still on his rookie deal and has some “experience” in the NE culture. The only thing is, would TEN be willing to part with him? Or...would he be willing to start calling his superiors “crackers”?

Corey Davis

Except Sanders isn't a project that may or may not be worthwhile and will take time getting up to speed with the offense. I have no objection to taking a flyer on Davis but the team needs an impact player now

Depends on when but I've been seeing numbers from $6M-$9M, It's not just about this year with his deal though, it only goes up after this season and the Pats have kicked a fair share of cans down the 2020 road already. That's why many folks would prefer Emanuel Sanders, not only will he cost less in trade but his contract is up after this season so no future cap impact and whatever you gave up to get him would be partially offset by what will most likely be a 3rd round compensatory pick when he moves on after the season.
Sanders would give at best a fifth round comp pick since he’ll be a 10 year veteran after this season (the Alan Faneca rule).

Trade for them all. Cap is crap!

I’ll take either one.

so he doesn't want to win apparently..
He’s going the Joe Thomas route. Dude rejected a trade go to Denver in 2015. They ended up winning the Super Bowl. Nobody should have any sympathy for that guy.

I read the Bengals are maybe still shopping him.

Peter King thinks the Pats will acquire Diggs.
5. I think Stefon Diggs to the Patriots at the trading deadline makes sense, especially if the season goes south for Minnesota. Say, for second and fourth-round picks in 2020. A first-rounder strikes me as too rich for Diggs, but a low second isn’t enough. New England never worries about the consequences of trading picks, and won’t if in three weeks they’re getting zero tight end production and still are needy at wideout.

6. I think what makes the trade pretty attractive for New England is that Diggs is 25, has a contract reasonable for a good to very good wideout, and has zero guaranteed money in the last year of it. So the Patriots could cut him before his age-30 season in 2023 without financial consequences. Would you want Diggs, now 25, for the next 3.5 years at $37.2 million? I sure would, if what I had to give up was, say, the 60th and 125th picks to get him.

So he’s not coming here.

Also part of that article, King somehow manages to find the JD Salinger of today, Brett Favre, to have a long sit down interview. What a swell human being Favre is - do you know some days he and his wife will pray the rosary together? What a guy!

AJ Green wants to be a loser he can stay a loser.

Still whining about Antonio Brown? This is the kind of post that proves the need for a "yawn" button.
The offense is in need of a WR. Of course Kraft's demand to release AB is relevant.

Now it looks like additional cap space and draft capital will need to be forfeited in order to make up for it.

You don't know it was Kraft that demanded his release, it was idle speculation. Plus there is a very big chance he would have been suspended by the league anyway.

Instead of a yawn button there should be a grow up button.

I think it’s terribly unfair to blame Bob Kraft for the antics of Antonio Brown, and yet a good handful of people continue to do just that.
