Sure. Bring Thielen too.

190k of cap is enough to fit both, right?

I love how an unverified twitter account can cause this much of a frenzy.

2019 cap isn’t a real issue. They can create a bunch of room with some restructures (though of course that worsens their cap situation in 2020 and beyond).

I haven’t been following this too closely. So all these tweets that the internet is getting riled up about are from a fake account?? Would have thought by now people would know better than that.

We’re fans and we’re bored. Let us be

I don't know if I agree with that man...

I really don't think Restructures are THAT easy, especially since we are talking about multiple ones (to fit a 6M salary)... For starters it's not guaranteed players will accept and finishes with long term ramifications like you said

After AB, I don't see the Pats with a lot of wiggle room and i definitely don't think we can afford any other high-priced player. With that being said, Im far from being a cap expert

There’s seldom a reason for a player to reject a restructure. Almost all restructures result in the player either getting more up-front, guaranteed money or having no change to what the player is getting (because most of them follow the convert-salary-to-signing-bonus model). And sometimes the player even gets a small kicker beyond that.

For example, say some player is in the part of his contract where he’s getting paid $10mil a year and has 3 years left. If he agrees to restructure such that his 2019 payment changes from $10mil of salary to $1mil of salary and $9mil bonus, that creates $6 mil of cap space in 2019 but the player gets paid exactly the same amount each year for the same amount of time as he did before the restructure. Why not take it? Especially if the team throws in a few hundred thousand extra.

No. Next question.

It's usually pretty obvious when an account is fake, verified or not.

As he has a multi year contract, it would be easy. Just drop his salary to the league minimum, move the rest to signing bonus and spread it across the life of the contract. Trading for him (would cost no less than a #1 IMO) and whether you want the big salary cap hits later is up for discussion but we can do it. Much easier than, say, Sanders, who has no years left so there's nothing to spread a restructure across.

I wish things like this wouldn’t happen so I didn’t get my hopes up

Well we did get AB so it's not like BB is not looking into more weapons for Brady.

But the question is how much does AB's bonus money hurt our cap situation.

Kraft's hasty damage control move to cut AB might have done more damage to the franchise in the long run if the bonus money counts against the Patriots cap space now.

And you can bet it will thanks to Lefty Handsy Kraft.

It does. Right now we have 1.2 million in capspace and had enough to pull off a big trade BEFORE the AB disaster

I’m sure Minnesota would be happy to trade him to NE, and throw in Adam Thielan too, just to be extra nice.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Give this man an award!

Orchid Bob's hypocrisy sure as hell backfired on him. He put out a statement after getting busted, pleading for another chance and apologizing, but when AB makes his FIRST mistake as a Patriot- he's bang right out the door before he even knew what hit him.

So, it's all on kraft? BB gets a free pass for giving an extremely high risk player all that guaranteed money?

Sure.

Right after the NFL clears Antonio Brown of all wrong doing.

Kraft issues a tear filled apology and admits to everything that happened Florida. As an act of contrition he agrees to suspend himself from the Patriots for the rest of the year. AB accepts his apology and rejoins the team.

I have to admit having Josh Gordon as the #4 WR looks pretty good.
