I don't think Watson, at 39, is going to be the "game-changer" people are making his addition out to be..
Agreed. But he will improve the position along with a healthy LaCosse. Someone has to go though.

Hell if you watch the replay you can see Allen lowering his head.

Exactly! Fouts called it a vicious hit. If Allen doesn't lower his head diving for the first down its not head to head. Allen would have had 5 picks if he stayed in the game.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but this is for all those who think the Patriots never get the benefit of any bad calls, or that the refs/media are out to get us:

That should pretty much be the final word on whether or not it was an INT....

Then he put his right foot down...

The guy playing with a bum hand couldn't bail out the QB who was throwing footballs with the accuracy of a blind infant. Obviously, that's the WRs fault. It was also Dorsett's fault that Brady was either tossing his passes to him at a height where even a 7 foot tall receiver couldn't have caught them or underthrowing him to the point where defenders were able to get back into the play after being beaten.

Bills defense played great. Josh called a lousy game. They have to throw to Sony. Defenses just play the run when he is in there. Did Brady ever consider throwing to Izzo, LaCosse, or Meyers?

On the play where Brady threw the interception to Hyde, I'd have loved for him to fake throw it to Edelman instead of actually throwing it so that Hyde would pull off.. Then Brady could have hit Meyers or ran it in himself..

Running game was weird. Michel started to get steam at one point in the 1st and McDaniels went away from it. Then at the end of the game he started to get some steam again and once again McDaniels went away from it.

Also run game was hurt by the fact that they obvious were cautious with Burkhead today

But what seems to be forgotten in the defense's dominance is that Pats offense most of the times has issues in the 1st month, so it isn't really out of the norm for me. Last year they started out 2-2 because of it, as well as 2014.

Then he put his right foot down...
Yes but the ball is already out of bounds in that picture because the Bills WR is touching the ball (and he is clearly out of bounds). So the whole thing was OOB before his Jackson's foot landed. That's what Steratore was saying and he was right.

It reminds me of the David Patten unconscious "fumble recovery" from '01. If an OOB player is touching the ball, the ball is OOB.

Ok so buffalo had more yards today.

Buffalo was also 2-13 on 3rd downs, Threw 4 picks and were sacked 5 times.

To be fair two of those picks were total bonehead plays that most QBs wouldn’t make. You don’t throw the football up like that and expect to win. Allen got chewed out by his coach after the second one and rightfully so.

What on earth are you talking about?

Josh Gordon seems disinterested in playing football. His routes look slow and sloppy and he gives up on plays without a ton of effort shown. It seems like he is trying to skate on his talent. His catches last week were phenomenal but they had to be because he had no separation.

I had the sound off did Burkhead reinjure himself?
Any other possible injuries?

Edelman isn't Edelman, same as early last season. Agreed - still hurt
Bill's secondary was dynamite. And they could play light because of the Patriots lack of run blocking.
Line wasn't great but wasn't awful either. The line is not a smash mouth run block group like they are when healthy. + James Devlin.

The run blocking in the first half was actually pretty good. Michel had a 4.3ypc during the 1st half..

Their MLB Edmunds destroyed quite a few plays on his own.. Guy is a monster..

Brady was off in all directions, long/short/left/right. That pass to Dorsett that ended up being called a PI would have been a TD if Brady hadn't underthrown it.

There was a guy coming over the top. Would've been intercepted.

But Brady was clearly rattled by the OL not picking up blitzers. He had zero confidence back there, and once the Bills saw he was not going to be threatened downfield, they stopped the screens and short game as well.

Tom looks like he hasn't slept in a while.

Bags under his eyes

On the Hyde INT, DaBruinz, it looks as though Meyers was the principal target after Brady looked off to the left, but the rookie stopped his route running.

I think he may have had the deer in the headlights behavior. Anyone have a clip of that play? Really bad by Brady.

What I saw was BOTH players lower their heads right before the hit. Allen is 6'4-6'5. Jones is 5'9. Kinda hard for Jones to hit Allen in the head unless Allen lowers his to meet Jones.. And if a RUNNER does that, its on them. And that isn't a penalty..

I have no sympathy for the Josh Allen concussion at all. He decided not to slide and play hero. I hope that 15 yard penalty was worth it!

I remember Stevan Ridley got a penalty for being knocked out on a similar play vs. Baltimore.

The Mile High Brady stuff has migrated to Buffalo. Despite the team coming out ahead, he’s been totally out of sync there the last three years.

If you make Brady uncomfortable and speed up his internal clock you will get him to occasionally throw a silly pick like that. Hopefully with time he will have a bit more time in the pocket (especially when Wynn returns) and we won't see him trying to improvise that much.

Anyone else think that the Bills offense got relatively better with Barkley?
