It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The problem with that point of view it completely disregard the actual contract that Brown signed with the Pats. I assume that contract had to be cleared with the league before he came aboard, so I could very easily read the clauses that we all have read this week that very clearly could make the point that Brown violated that contract and his guarantees.
Maybe we aren’t understanding each other then. Of course an elite receiver isn’t going to make an offense transcendent if the QB isn’t great too. A RB will not make an offense transcendent if the rest of the offense is average. And most all great QBs still need a great supporting cast to make an elite offense. And one great defensive player is not enough to change an entire offense if the rest of the unit blows.Interesting points, but the evidence belies your contention. If what you say is true, why haven't guys like AB, Jones, Green, CJohnson, Ocho, OBJ, etc, etc, etc played in more playoff games and superbowls. It isn't/wasn't because they are bad players. No, in fact as individuals several ARE transcendent at their position.
Maybe I can give you some clarity with my position if I ask a question. Given the choice of having AB on the team or Aaron Donald on the team (arguably the best player at their respective positions), which would you pick. The guy who might get 10 targets on offense, or the guy who can effect EVERY defensive play he plays? BTW - it's a rhetorical question.
Opinion reported as fact, based on opinion reported as fact by another outlet. The problem with that point of view it completely disregard the actual contract that Brown signed with the Pats. Now I'm not saying that a court couldn't find that Brown should get his guarantees, but the report is that the Pat HAVE to play them comes off as if it were a fact, NOT just an opinion or observation. I guess that's where I have the problem with that article. It's one of the many that should be filed under "opinion reported as fact"
Our offense with Antonio Brown would be transcendent and maybe historically great, whereas without him it is just pretty good. One player can make a huge difference.
so krafty bob cuts AB to save $9m, but probably will be stuck paying it...failure!!
Karma comes back to kick Orchid Bob in the ass.
I said it's possible. Didn't say likely. That said, there is one game (@NE) they will be underdogs in. Otherwise, they'll be favorites in every game. Patriots could be underdogs @Philly & @Houston.
????
He's off everybody right now. With him not playing, there's nothing to keep him in the news.
Comments:
1.) I am still disappointed that AB the player is not playing for us anymore. But AB cut himself, IMO.
2.) I see that Curran's article is being sourced all over the media right now. My take: Curran is a honest writer and I trust what he says. However, I don't think it was as cut and dry as Curran made it out to be. I think Kraft wanted Brown gone after the texting episode and had a meeting with BB, Jonathan, and Nick....and I think BB reluctantly agreed...but might have wanted to wait it out a bit longer...but Kraft was insistent because he wanted to save 5M at least. Then there's Brady...I can't blame him for being upset...AB made things so much easier on the field....it was like getting Randy Moss or a young Gronk on the field.
3.) A part of me is concerned that Kraft might have interfered in football operations, but the AB situation wasn't all football. And does anybody remember the reports from earlier last year about how Brady and BB weren't getting along...and that there was a schism...etc..etc.. this team has already endured a lot of bull$hit....I think they'll be fine...but still a bit concerned that Kraft might have over stepped his boundary...then again HE OWNS THE TEAM.....
4.) LOL @ Weddle trolling AB on twitter yesterday....Weddle is right...AB ain't on a team.
5.) I am still concerned about the NFL's investigation...I HOPE it DRAGS on because if not...AB could end up on an AFC contender before the end of the season....
I was so angry Milloy and Law were my two favorite Pat's after DrewOnce again.
The time Lawyer Milloy was cut was far worse.
That 1st week of 2003 season was the end of the world for sure......
.
I'm blaming Curran because I think he's talk-show speculating, and doesn't have the sources and information he claims.I just want to be clear about this new paradigm, because I've been saying that Curran's not been the same lately, but I hadn't yet taken that to the point of blaming Curran for all the world's ills, as some of you now seem to be doing:
- Are we now blaming Curran for things that multiple reporters are claiming?
- Are we now blaming Curran for BB and Brady not being on board with the idiocy of cutting Brown?
- Or, are we now blaming Curran just because he's writing things we don't like, regardless of whether or not those things have support elsewhere?

He used to be a reporter. Now he's a TV hawt taek artist.
Except adding "marquee free agents" was never anything that the Pats do except in cases where they come on a discount.
Similarly there is no cap hell because no team is managing their financials much better while still optimising the roster each year before the trade deadline.
And finally it is completely irrelevant if he played or not in Miami in terms of his guarantees being void. Similarly, the allegations came out more than 4 days before the game.
In other words.. all that you wrote is not correct.
The thing about playing in Miami was brought up by Ben Violin, Felger, and Ordway.
