Antonio Brown

Brady is the franchise- that's different. I can see him getting involved there. It's like if the Bulls owner prevented Phil Jackson from trading Michael Jordan away. Antonio Brown is just a cog. Unless it involves Brady, I'd prefer Kraft to stay out.

Just a "cog"?

I think not. Some say he is the greatest WR in the NFL, and that without him, the Patriots won't win the SB.

.

Good.

Otherwise, right now you'd be cheering on our starting QB Garropolo and hoping the Pats can win Banner #6.

.

.
No.

Or was the convo more like BB wanted to keep him and Kraft wouldn't budge?

That's a possibility, but I always think BB is more reasonable than people think. I remember hearing about his relationship with Pioli. If they disagreed on a player, they just moved on because they trusted each others' judgments enough. BB didn't say, "Well, I make the decisions," and pull the trigger anyway.

Maybe BB got on the phone with Kraft and realized that while he may have preferred to keep Brown, Kraft had a point and decided to move on? I think if BB hadn't agreed, Brown wouldn't have been released so quick.

Yup, just like last year...

Is the reporter who is saying BB didn't want to release Brown and it was all Kraft driven is he reliable and is the majority believing this?
I just hate to think that Kraft would overrule BB.

If reports about Kraft being the one to ultimately release Brown are correct, I have to say that’s a pretty ballsy move considering his sexual indiscretions in the offseason. Pun fully intended.
Where was this reported?

Good owners stay in their lane. Good owners do not make football decisions. Good owners do not divorce themselves from all situations involving the team. He is the boss.

If he's so worried about the reputation of the franchise he should probably stay away from Asian spas

Hence my point about "some say"........

.

I think we'll be fine without AB but he should trust his franchise player (who was reportedly upset) because without him Kraft is nothing

He might have. This was not a football decision. This was not deciding who gets the last 2 spots on the 53. Owners get to make these decisions .... because it is their team.

The fundamental truth:

The Triumvirate appreciates each other and understands that NONE of them are where they are today without the other two.

So because he is a flawed man ,he should stop making decisions. Said no owner ever.

Exactly.

To everyone who hates Kraft for whatever reason and feels that their football enjoyment is lessened because of him, the Jets and Giants are only 200 miles away and the Bills aren't that far either.

There are 31 other owners of NFL franchises out there. We have, by far, the best of the bunch. And it's not even close.

There's a reason the rest of the country said in unison two weeks ago, New England is the only franchise AB could go to where he is not a danger to the franchise.

THINK

.....or messageboard poster about themselves!

No all that’s happened is people who don’t know the facts have had time to speculate, make things up and find a way to be critical.
Why patriot fans feel the need to create reasons to diminish Belichick is beyond my understanding.

Why is that "diminishing" Belichick? I admire him more for it. He wouldn't be cowed by others who said "Don't hire AB" and he also wouldn't get on his knees to AB like those jellyfish enablers Tomlin and Gruden.

It's his way or the highway. We won't be hearing any secret Gruden-like tapes of BB calling AB and saying "C'mon, man will you pretty please come to practice and stop group harrassing people through texts"??????

He's onto Buffalo and everyone knows their job.

Do you remember the last time Kraft got too handsy with this franchise? I don't want a repeat of that

Yes yes and yes. I know the resident homers on here like to act like the Seth Wickersham piece was all fake but that’s not reality.
Glad to hear that Brady finally won the “Patriot of the Week” award we hear so much about.....

Some reports out now claiming that Belichick didn’t run the Brown signing by Kraft at all.

On the one hand, that’s probably pretty normal — why bother Kraft for most signings?

On the other hand, given all of Brown’s craziness in shooting his way out PIT and then nuking his way out of OAK, having at least some discussion with the owner would seem to be wise.
