Very disappointed they didn't use Johnson on offense.
I wanted to see what Johnson could add to the running game. At first, I was disappointed that he didn't get tbe chance. I think, though, that they want to be able to get him back to the PS when Develin comes back so his snaps will be "in case of emergency". The outcome was well in hand despite the lame running game so there was no need to "break glass", no emergency. That's a good thing, all things considered.

Thst doesn't explain why he's been great on FGs this year (6/7)...unless the holder/snapper on FGs is different.
Might be a tempo thing.

Liken a golf swing without going through your normal pre-shot routine.

At any rate it's clearly mental as opposed to a physical issue

Are you being serious? No Fkin way. Jesus, its worse than I thought.
I think the poster made that up

Edit. Yes he did.

They asked him if he was surprised to go in at that time.

He said “I wasn’t expecting it but I was ready”

The Jets and the Dolphins. That’s all that has to be said in response. Let’s talk mid way thru the season and after we play some functional NFL offenses.

That said, I love what I see from the unit thus far.
Downer man, downer.

I hate 7 game preseasons

I get people being upset at Stidham throwing the pick six by WTF was he throwing? I don’t care if the handed the ball off to Sony three times for zero yards then punt. The jets weren’t going to move the ball on offense. That’s what they should have done.

Bad play calling, than a poor decision by the backup QB
I think that what happened was BB caught him checking on his FF league on the side lines and threw him into the game. What BB didn't realize was that Stidham had the Jets D on his FF team.

@Ian In the picture in my signature too big. If so, let me know. I can change it.
Yeah ... unfrotunately you'll need to change it.

A) It's definitely too big and B) it's slightly inappropriate as a signature.

Per Volin, its a chemistry thing between Gost and the kid. Apparently Allen used to walk on Gost's back to loosen him up, but the kid doesn't feel comfortable doing that yet.

Maybe a swift kick in the ass by BB might do the trick instead

That's about the last thing a Belichick player would wanna say, yikes!
I'm glad he is being honest. It also makes sense that Belichick put Stidham in the game today when the young quarterback wasn't expecting it. On a rational-level, Stidham realizes that he is the backup and could enter the game at any point. On an emotion-level, however, this is Tom Brady's team and it is easy for a young guy like Stidham to go into autopilot. Belichick will have Stidham eat humble pie all week and hopefully this mistake acts as an important reminder to always be ready to enter the game.

Very odd signature indeed.

After it was 30-0, the O got sloppy. The D, however, remains mighty.

O is a work in progress - Ben Watson will help a lot. Could have used James White today. N'Keal Harry will help, I hope.

It's a long season. Last couple of games have been gloriously boring. Pats are +89 in point differential (should be 103). next closest team is Baltimore, who are 2-1 with +50.

As long as complaints are about the offense, i feel reassured that we will be fine. The NE offense typically peaks at the end of the year. It was still a mess versus Pittsburgh last year and was doing well by the playoffs. As long as key people are not hurt. When our defense is on fire, it is usually a very good sign. Easier to bring defense every week during the year. Cowboys and KC look to be the regular season challenges for the D.

Love the defense but the offense I’m slightly concerned about in the early going.

Dorsett is emerging which is big news for us and much needed. However Josh Gordon still seems a little rusty out there but hopefully that will improve despite still putting up respectable numbers on the surface today.

What concerns me is Sony Michel and perhaps the run blocking as a whole. I can’t speak for how the OL played in that regard but Michel has had two duds thus far and can’t seem to break a tackle to save his life.

Yet, he plunged through the heart of the D-line last week for a TD..
Can't gain yardage if there was no hole. Look at the plays that Burkhead gained yardage on. Only 2 of them were plunges up the middle. The others were draw plays..

The Run blocking hasn't been good at all when it telegraphs the play.. When they run draws is when they've gotten the best yardage..

When they tried to pull a guard today, the Jets blew the play up.. When your best players on the line are guards and they're getting beaten handedly on run plays, the issue really isn't the RB.. It's the blocking. You can bet your bottom dollar that Dante won't be happy..

The quote you are replying about didn’t happen. He did not say he wasn’t prepared.
They asked if he was surprised to go in THEN and he says he wasn’t expecting it BUT HE WAS READY.
The poster who created the fake news rumor was making it up.
