Jalen Ramsey has never been a top 5 corner in the NFL at any point.

But why would Jalen Ramsey, a good not great corner, be worth 2 extra drive stops a game? He can't play zone and can't play in the slot...he also can't cover every receiver on the Patriots.

He is 2 extra drive stops better than Kendall Fuller......especially in man coverage which the Chiefs desperately need.

If there's a lesson to take from the AB signing, it is that teams can be really creative with cap management...

On the other hand, they just paid Tyreek....thank god...and will need to back up the Brinks truck for Mahomes even if he takes a Brady-esque home town discount.....

The cap isn’t an immediate concern, but defensive MVP Chris Jones can’t keep ignoring that the Chiefs are paying everybody except him. Mathieu and Clark already, and now potentially Ramsey.

He would cost at least a first rounder, and as of last night thanks to the Dolphins, probably a 1st + 3rd. He also showed up to training camp in a Brinks truck, so he’s looking for a new mega deal that could make him the top paid CB.

There’s also that whole “stocked at the position” thing going on. And he’s an ***hole.

Never know what Belichick does next. I don't think that highly of Ramsey but who knows what BB thinks. Maybe BB thinks keeping him away from KC is worth it if he somehow can convince Ramsey that winning a SB is more important than a new contract, so he wins a SB, gets flipped for picks next year and receives a big contract in 2020 with a different team like a lot of other good NE players who left did. Long shot certainly but you can never rule anything out.

The fact he’s only on the books for 3 million makes it enticing. I know draft picks and a new contact also factor in but never say never with this team. Also if I was JAx I would send him somewhere to the NFC.

While that is an excellent plan, I’d argue that JMaC will likely already be “replaced” by JC at some point this season. And with JC & JMAC we have youth + financial benefits on one hand and experience + leadership on the other.

Obviously, Ramsey’s a “better player” straight up than those guys, but I’m wondering if he’s SO much better that it is worthwhile. I’d think the difference in skill isn’t so pronounced that it makes up for what JMaC & JC bring to the team.

But, BB is a funny dude. You can never feel comfortable trying to figure him out.
