Patriots Signing Marshall Newhouse

Does make sense.

Ow he’s a new......Houuuuuse

Yay, something other than Antonio Brown to talk about!

Newhouse is a classic journeyman. Good enough to be a solid backup, then inevitably pressed into a starting role due to injuries, at which point he earns fans' ire because he's not good enough to be a starter, go figure. He has a ton of experience, and is certainly as good a RT as you could hope to pick up off the street mid-season.

Here's a slightly snarky profile from a few years back:
Like it or not, Marshall Newhouse is still a Giant

Is he any good?

I watched him with the Packers a couple years ago and honestly thought he made Jordan Devey look good in comparison. I though he was horrible. Hopefully he has improved, but we will see.

I thought this might be the signing after they brought him in yesterday.

OL depth will be revolving door regardless of injuries. Unfortunately it seems that will be the reality of this season and suddenly having top end WR group with ton of depth helps..

Just don’t let him carry the ball.

In Dante We Trust

He can turn Journeymen into Reliable Starters

Has there been any lawsuits filed against him since this news broke? (sarcasm)
The day is young.

His wikipedia page says signed with saints in May 2019 and put on IR on 8/31, then released the next day? anyone know about injury?

"SLIGHTLY snarky?" It basically tells us that Newhouse stinks, but is a good guy and that his teammates like him. Not exactly high praise.

That being said, he is exactly what you'd expect to be out there this late into the season. He's flawed, but experienced. The only positive stat I saw was that the Packers were 24-7 in games he started. However if Dante improved a guy who has been around as long as he has, he will cement his induction into the HOF. We shall see.
