It is the year 2019. Some people still have not realised that BB throws around 6th and 7th round picks as currency to take flyers on players from other teams.

There was zero cap charge, there was essentially zero opportunity cost and they got another sixth round pick (for 2021) back from the Jets for a player that they had no use for.

But I am sure there were many centers with the experience of Bodine (74 games started) available on the street waiting to be signed. Criticising this is absurd and reminds me a bit of some people that were critizising the Kony Ealy trade down.

For Belichick, a 6th or 7th player isn't much more valuable than an UDFA. BB can certainly succeed with either.
