Perhaps one of the lawyer/fans could tell us - would cutting him now, before any criminal charges have been filed or civil charges adjudicated, be a violation of his rights under the CBA. I know Hernandez was cut pretty quickly, but not sure if that was before criminal charges were filed.

The NFL can do what the NFL wants. That being said, I just can't see the NFL using civil lawsuits as a basis to suspend players.

My thoughts with all this is the NFL should stay out of all the investigation crap. When a player is charged with a serious crime they should be suspended with pay. When a player is convicted of a serious crime they should be out of the league with no pay for a set amount of time. These crimes should be agreed upon, in advance, through collective bargaining.

I will make up an example or two
Let us say a player is charged with drunk driving. Player can play.
Player convicted of drunk driving, player out for 4 games.

Player charged with rape. Player can't play while trial is going on, but gets paid.
Player convicted of rape. Player out of the league for 10 years.

I described the 3 alleged instances.

How does a person ejaculate on another persons back while sitting down watching a church service on an iPad?
Beyond comprehension.

My guess is that he will end up on the exempt list sooner or later. It makes too much sense for Goodell to do just that with pressure from the other 31 feeling screwed by how Brown ended up with the Pats.

No, players can be cut for any reason at any time.

Pretty suspicious that this drops right after he joins the Patriots. I have a feeling other teams didn't like how the Pats acquired Brown, think something was in the works and is now forcing Goodell to suspend him.

Agreed, I think it's because most of the country outside of New England has been calling him assorted vulgar names since he was released by the Raiders. The lawyers for the plaintiff want to garner a sympathetic audience for pressure reasons and now is a great time.

What time is practice?

And if he pays her $1,000,000 this all goes away, the lawsuit is dropped and he is reinstated. This really sets an amazingly bad precedence for the NFL.

$1.6 million to be exact.

Is it possible that she just didn’t feel she had the evidence to put him away and just wanted to get something on him? Speaking in terms of hypothetically here as to not dig into the details but to just try to find a legit reason somebody may go this route.
Doesn't matter, she is alleging RAPE. You don't try to just "get what you can" for it, you (and law enforcement) want the bastard behind bars. You want JUSTICE. That's why her first action being a civil suit -- coinciding within a day of him signing a guaranteed contract -- smacks of opportunism.

It doesn't follow that his agent knew at all. You're making a leap there.
The Raiders knew. Ergo Rosenhaus knew. Ergo the Patriots knew.

I'd speculate even the Steelers knew.

Where is the ——I have no f@cking idea. Option?

Unless a video or text messages or something threatening abuse or whatever comes to light I really don’t see how he gets suspended.

Good point

my prediction is that this goes nowhere

mostly because it reeks of opportunism and the alleged incidents happened in a post #MeToo world........even the #MeToo people are steering clear of this one

Igor didnt have his maypo this morning.

And, unlike you, I still don’t think I would do a better job of running the Patriots than Belichick,

Some statements just never die.

Obviously I am not a fan of this signing or him as a person. However, going back someplace to be sexually assaulted/raped three times? Yeah no. And filing a lawsuit before going to the police?

AB is still a piece of **** but a rapist? I doubt it.
