I find the odds of this happening to be very small.Just thought of a trade that could solve a lot of our roster issues and in certain degrees makes sense, although I doubt it would happen.
We trade Burkhead, Roberts, and Eluemeandor AND a 3rd and 6th round picks to Washington for Trent Williams. Then we move Wynn to LG Thuney to C, and have a starting OL that would consist of Williams - Wynn - Thuney - Mason - Cannon.
Maybe it wouldn't start out that way because Williams would have to learn the system and Wynn and Thuney would have to have time to get adjusted to the moves, but if by the middle of October they had it all figured out, that would be an AWESOME OL
For Washington they would essentially get 5 players, three of which are NFL, for a single asset that is of no use to them.
For the Pats they get a probowl caliber LT who will give Wynn another full year to recover and get in playing shape while playing a position many thought was ideal for him. Putting Thuney at C would likely up grade the position once he got his feet wet. They also create some roster space to keep some younger players that might have been lost. They also improve the depth of the OL with Cunningham/Crosten, Frodholdt and Karras now being the primary OL back ups
Another thought, if you didn't want to to disrupt 2 positions this late ni the process, would make Wynn the swing OT and keep Karras and Thuney in their current positions. Now your best back ups would be Wynn, who is showing he's a starting caliber OT, Frodholdt who is a developmental guy they like and Cunningham or someone who is better than he is.
