Not a snowballs chance in hell Hoyer gets cut.

Stidham can throw screens, RB dump offs, and short range passes and handing off....do you think Hoyer is going to do a lot more if god forbid TFB gets hurt?!.....think Matt Cassel dialed down offense heavy on the run if anything were to happen

Who here thinks they win the SB with Hoyer? If the answer is no, as it should be, why keep him over Stidham? Why and how does that even make sense? If they think Hoyer runs the scout team better and that is an identified must have then fine keep Hoyer. Outside of that...

There's such a thing as throwing a QB into the water before he learns how to swim. Many a QB in the NFL never regain their confidence after something like that.

The only argument to keep him is in case of a short term injury to Brady that he might be able to win you another game over Stidham (I'm not convinced that's true)

Because if Brady misses, say, 2-3 games with injury this year, you want to have the QB who's best able to win you a couple games right now. If Hoyer's that guy, and keeping him gets you an extra win or two, then that could easily be the difference between having a bye vs. not having one. So you keep them both. Hoyer in case you need someone to win you a game or two this year, Stidham as a long term developmental guy.

I like a lot of the guys on the bubble this year, but I like having the most qualified spot starter we can more than any of them.

No need to keep Hoyer in my opinion. Stidham looks like he can do as well as Hoyer can and if Brady goes down you aren’t winning it all with Hoyer either.

The Hoyer mafia is a real thing maybe? I can’t understand it. Everyone, reporters etc say Stidham has looked as good if not better than Jimmy did yet he maybe should be cut? Makes no sense.

Not in a BB system. Actually the offense with its run game is well suited for a young QB. Kinda like when Brady took the reigns...

He shouldn't be cut, but people in this thread are saying Stidham has looked just as good or better and makes Hoyer cuttable which is completely false.

Will you win a SB with Hoyer?

If that's the criteria by which backup QBs are judged then every team in the league is cutting their backup this weekend. ****, half the teams in the league know they don't have a prayer of winning a SB with their starter.

Backups are generally there to win you a game or two if the need arises, nothing more.
