Patriots looking at a binkie of Mine

So Larry Fitzgerald wasn't at Logan?

Mike Vrabel, one of the greatest tight ends of all time.

I’m liking this Brady guy. Think he can build off last year.

Honestly their are quite a few stories of players floating around the league then something clicks or works and the player finds his potential realized
I know this is a belief people share but i don’t think you can actually name many examples.

Everyone look at ChrisR's binkie too

Mike Vrabel
Wes Welker
Vinnie Testaverde
Otis Smith
Tyrone Poole
Dion Lewis

IDK that's just off the top of my head real fast of players who I think fully came into their own in a different system than where they started.

The criteria was players that bounced around failing and ended up putting it all together after missing with numerous teams ie hunter liking fir 5th team.

Vrabel was a backup who cane here and got a chance to start
Weaker was a slot receiver with one team who did better here
Otis Smith was a 9 year vet with 2 teams who started 47 games.
Poole was a first round pick who was a full time starter his first 6 years in the league who came here to basically have his last good season.
Lewis played for one team before the patriots and missed 2 seasons with injuries.

None fit the example cited, which is really my point, that it seems like that happens but it really rarely does.

I agree some players click when they get to the right team but that wasn’t the concept I disagreed with, I disagreed with the “floating around” concept.

Not sure how he would show me up because anything positive he does will make me happy but let’s be realistic. 28/304/0 last year was double his production in his first 2 years combined.
What are you expecting?
I’m thinking on the bubble and a special team we who may get on the field as a wr or not depending upon injuries. Think Sam Aiken.
I don't think Aiken is a good comp. In 6 years in Buff he did less as a WR than Harris in 3 with Skins. Aiken had established himself as a STer moreso than Harris. Harris story is he developed for 2 then had a somewhat decent 3rd year hopefully he builds on that here. My expectations are 35+ catches and 400+ yards.

is he any good?
short answer: no. I liked him coming out of Tennessee, but he's past the age where if he was going to amount to much of anything it pretty much would have happened by now.

I would like to point out that just because the Patriots are working someone (or a group) out, doesn't mean they expect them to be legitimate roster contenders, or are desperate for them to be. With Edelman out for the beginning of camp, they probably need another body so they have enough WR's to run enough reps without burning them out needlessly. If one of them happens to be a surprise that's great, but BB always has a continuous rolodex of players in case a need comes up.

Sign the underperforming potential not yet realized possible beast or career bench warmer.

Kyle Van Noy
Lawrence Guy
Those aren’t good examples.
Kvn was in his 3rd year all with one team and starting.
Guy is a little better example because he was a bottom of the roster guy for a couple of years on 2 teams before carving out a big role in bmore. He came here as a starter level meg level free agent not a journeyman cast off.

On the positive side he was a 2nd round pick - 4th WR taken and he lost
time to injuries which hampered his development ... on the negative side
we are team 5 ... so something is missing there. Doesn't hurt to bring him
in ... we have ??? marks ... but it's a very long shot ... he's older by NFL standards.
