Regular Season Touchdowns: Currently, Brady has 517 regular season touchdowns (and Brees has 520). Manning holds the record at 539. In 2019, Brady will surpass Manning with 23 touchdowns, which he will easily do. Brees will break Manning's record too. It'll be interesting to see who does it first. Brady will reach 540 TDs most likely in late October/early November. If Brady does it first, I just hope they won't stop the game and have a stupid ceremony like Brees did last year.

Regular Season Passing Yards: Manning is also 2nd overall in regular season passing yards at 71,940. Brady is 4th with 70,514 yards and needs 1426 yards to surpass Manning. Of course, Brees is 1st overall in this category and I don't think Brady will beat him unless Brees decides to retire in the next year or two.

Brees was playing at an MVP level the first 2/3 of last year then started coming back to earth. Maybe it was an injury or just a slump but it wouldn't surprise me if he has a Manning-like drop off this year.

Saints will work hard to make sure Brees gets there first. No Ingram, I expect more Michael Thomas in the red zone. Whereas Bradys will come more naturally as we utilize our rbs more at the goal line.

just like when Reid tried to give all TDs to Mahomes especially early in the year it was embarrassing

The Dome Midget takes tremendous pride in meaningless random numbers like 540, etc. Really, sports greatest achievement last year (according to the ESPYs) was breaking the career PASSING YARDS record? Ha ha ha ha! Does anyone give a single flying **** every year if Brady leads the league in passing yards? Of course not - usually it’s just a symptom of a bad defense and an inefficient offense with too much playing from behind. Not much of a career accomplishment to win the MVP at age 40, throw for 505 yards in the SB (since winning/losing apparently isn’t a factor), winning your ninth conference title and sixth ring? Brady’s performance @K.C. was more impressive than anything the Dome Midget has ever done, stats be damned.

You can bet the entire Saints organization is rallied around this TD record like it’s bigger than the Super Bowl. The Dome Midget has spent like 8 straight years chasing big, meaningless stat lines and coming up short in the big moments.

Love how the last remaining Manning haters cite Manning’s superior regular season statistics. In the big picture, even if TB12 retired tomorrow, does it really matter that Manning threw 539 regular season TDs and Brady 517? Both are a crap ton of regular season touchdown passes. So when Brady hits 540, that 1 TD pass is so massively important to his legacy? The whole thing is silly.

I hear ya, but I kind of want Brady to finish first in everything.

Brees is what, like a year and a half younger than Brady? He could hit the wall anytime I suppose.

I see no reason to belittle Drew Brees. Dome midget? He's had a stellar career, and it has been dome-aided for sure, as was most of Manning's regular season accomplishments.

The QB record book for playoffs pretty much reads "Tom Brady" for everything good.

The QB record book for all games, regular season and playoffs, also pretty much reads "Tom Brady" for everything good.

Whatever Tom wraps up in terms of regular season statistical supremacy is gravy at this point.

The haters will still find a way to hate, by saying that everything deserves an asterisk, for example.

The only way to maintain sanity is to ignore the haters. Like flat-Earthers, facts won't sway them.

I want him to get the record, too, but historically this is very small matter. Can anyone name the passing yards leader before Favre? How about the guy before Marino? The guy before that? This record is really meant to be broken since the NFL doesn’t attempt to balance offense and defense, so it isn’t like the home run record and historically significant. You are the most recent, longest tenured QB in the NFL and have the most passing attempts? Congrats - you own the record!

In 10-20 years, NO ONE will care about this current cumulative passing yards or passing TD record “chase” that is happening. Someone else will break it since the 5,000 yard season will soon become the norm and a 100,000 yard career will be the new “immaculate” goal.

But in 10-20 years, no one will be close to 30 postseason wins or about a dozen insanely ridiculous records that TB12 has. Winning is the ultimate equalizer since you’re playing with the same rules as your counterpart QB. When Brady broke records for most postseason wins and most regular season wins, it was little more than a blurb. Yet that will stand the test of time. These big passing numbers will become irrelevant the moment they’re surpassed. Just ask Favre, Marino, Fouts, Tarkenton, Unitas, and Graham how often they’re hailed as “the guy who was once the all-time leader in passing yards and TDs but now is surpassed by non-elite modern players.”

The Greatest Football Mind of our time said it best: "You now how I feel about stats. Stats are for losers. The final score is for winners and that's what it's really all about."

Brees is massively overrated. He is the most coddled athlete in the four major sports. He receives a micro-fraction of the criticism that every other “elite” QB receives when he falls short in the postseason. He’s played 17 seasons (in a 16 team conference) and made one Super Bowl appearance. It seems that any given franchise would do just as well in that timeframe. Top-6 all-time QB? He wins less than 60% of his starts. The guy has had a lot of moments to shine on the biggest stage but has little to show for it. Spare me the excuses about the Saints defense, coaching, etc. They play a track meet style of game and he wins a little more than Heads against Tails. Name another “all-time great” QB who wins less frequently.

Aggregate stats. Yay, bring out the champagne.

I'm looking forward to watching a Saints game paused so Drew Brees can get a piece of paper and go and hug his family and tell his little one "You can do anything you set your mind to if you work hard" or whatever he said. Only for Brady to break the record. and then Drew Brees breaks it only for another Saints game to get paused. o_O

Yeah Yeah! I know they're not going to pause the game for that because Brady is still around. But that **** is so disrespectful. Freaking hate that!

Weird. Brees isn't a selfish prick or a douche which is why he probably gets a pass on his difficulties in big games but it's not like that's his doing (like a certain family that begins with M and ends with anning). I don't know anyone that compares him to TB. I don't get the animosity or the care. Weird.

I doubt they would. They haven't done it for other Brady's records either. I think Drew Brees has the power to tell them not to do that. But he won't. He likes it, no doubt. Disrespectful if you ask me.

I actually feel that Brees doesn't get enough respect. When he is on his A game, I sort of fear him more than Brady and Manning. For many years I thought he had the best touch on deep passes followed by Big Ben and Manning. For the past few years they have had a good defense and choked on some of their best chances to make the super bowl, but before that they have fielded some of the worst defenses I have ever seen. Brees dropping close to 50 points and losing shocked no one because their defense was that bad. Lastly, Brees doesn't have that grit to make dink and dunk work against elite defenses.

He's generally ranked above many quarterbacks in NFL history who deserve to be ranked way ahead of him. It's a combination of recency bias and the "immaculate Brees" syndrome, whereby he''s sheltered to any criticism, ever, whereas every other QB is skewered as part of the job.

What do you mean? Do you have some examples for us?

And?

Oh and for all you who hate how Brees is trying to collect all the records. He's also gunning for most receivers he's thrown a passing TD to held by Brady. o_O
