You done messed up A-A-Ron

Michael Holley wrote about one story in Patriots Reign (time for a sequel) that typified it. Early in 2001 preseason an unnamed free agent signee was in the weight room and Brady ( remember he is still a backup fighting for a roster spot) is holding court telling the defensive players what he looks for when he reads coverages. the new player asked who that was. When told it was the backup quarterback, he was stunned that a backup had such knowledge... and this was a player who had been with at least one other team.....
There isn't enough data storage with Ian's hosting provider to talk about how great of a leader TB12 is.

Probably not but I hope I'm wrong! I think you're underestimating the value of longevity when evaluating a QB. A QB who is great for 2-3 years doesn't qualify in my book and I think it's probably bordering on ridiculous to think we're going to get more than 2-3 more seasons of Tom, as sad as that makes me say.

I'd never trade Tom for anything.

But if I was just looking at it from a pure team building standpoint and leaving aside how much I love the guy I'd absolutely trade Tom Brady for Mahomes and a few others. It's just the sad reality. Actually, it's not even sad, the greatest QB of all time has sustained the highest level of play for the longest period of time so I have no right to feel sad.

Since Mahomes has been in the league, Brady's won a SB, went to another (and threw for 505), and won an MVP. That's The 'Green Bay GOAT's entire resume, isn't it?

I'm not so much underestimating longevity, as I'm implying that Mahomes won't have it, once his whole offense ends up in jail/cut/suspended. It won't be Mahomes' fault, necessarily, it will be the KC Front Office, who doesn't seem to have the foggiest idea as to what they're doing.

What amazes me is how often the casual fan attributes this kind of stuff to Brady. He's the diva. He's ****y. He thinks he's all that. Meanwhile, I mentioned these stories about Rodgers at the barber shop, when they all were saying Brady is a product of BB only, and nobody had heard any of them. How do these guys, including Peyton, hide so well in plain sight?

Besides, Crosby’s not that good, and a whiner to boot.
Now, Orr, in the other hand, coulda scored 900 ...with two good knees.

Back to topic.....
Crosby rules!

...oh you mean that guy...yeah...

Don't get me wrong, Bledsoe wasn't a bad person by any means.
...and there's no shame in being the seventh- or eighth-best quarterback in team history
And despite all the success, Brady has never changed who he is and we've certainly read plenty of stories about how many no name guys are shocked when Brady takes time to come over and chat with them to see how they're doing.
Bobby Orr was exactly the same.

"JUST GOTTA INJECT MY POLITICS INTO EVERYTHING" people can s my d (stayoutta my discussions)

Happy to triple down.
Go back and read my post. I said, Crosby doesn’t make my top 100. Not your top 100 or the top 100, what ever the hell those might be.

I know what you wrote. It was ludicrous.

I’ve played, coached and watched hockey for over 50 years. I know a little bit about the sport. There’s no room for a whiney be-yotch like Crosby in my top 100.

Talent is talent. Crosby is one of the 100 best to ever play the game, whether he whines or not. I have no love for the player, but he's been the best player of his era, and one of the best of all time. The number of years you've been involved in the game doesn't change the level of the players who've been in it.

Happy
I do have guys you may not, a lot of hard nosed D like Shore and Baun and Robinson and Savard not to mention Harvey, Lidstrom, Potvin and a guy named Bourque. Any number of Russians. Plus about 20 goalies. So, my list fills up and no Crosby.

Again, it's absolutely fine not to have him in your top 10, but it's ludicrous not to have him in your top 100. Gretzky wasn't a particularly hard nosed player (and, at his size, couldn't afford to be), either, and he survived in the game largely because his teams were built to protect him and cover for his obvious size-related deficiencies. Yet, somehow, you found it in your heart to still consider him in the top 100.

By the way, for a long time your signature line was a quote to the effect of, don’t just follow the herd. Yet, when someone expresses a differing opinion, on a topic they know something about, you sure are dismissive.

I'm dismissive of ludicrous statements. Whether they are made by the herd or someone who doesn't follow the herd isn't really relevant to that. Being willing to ignore the herd is admirable, but it doesn't give you a monopoly on accuracy. The herd's not always wrong.

The difference is, Cindy Crosby *****es about things allegedly done to him that his team, the Sh!tsdirt Stinkybirds, does all...the...time. The proper term for that type of person is Hypocrite. Same goes for their icon Mario. Feck those two ass-wipes, and the rest of that gutless, rancid organization.

Meh. I save my hate for Ulf Samuelsson
I have a lot of hate to spare.

Me too.

Isn't it Cindy Crysbaby?

BTW, the Penguins are guilty of too many men on the ice at all times, especially in playoff games

(the officials may as well be wearing Pittsburgh jerseys - fact not opinion)

Ha! They lost last night, as did Tampa Bay. An awesome start to the NHL playoffs! Now we just need the Bruins to win tonight! Go Bruins!!

I wasted my time watching the last two Bruins playoff years.

I'm done with the NHL, the officiating is one-sidedly corrupt against the Bruins

It has begun.

"I don't think you want me to turn off 11 years. There's stuff that not many people in the league can do at the line. That's not a humble brag. That's just a fact." Rodgers to @MikeSilver on LaFleuer's system not having a ton of freedom at the LOS for the QB.

We're awfully lucky that Brady's crazy is confined to drinking enough concussion water to summon the old god Pliatoccus.

For all of his success and marrying the world's richest woman (or whatever she is) he should have lost his goddamn mind by now and been living a life that would make Howard Hughes seem grounded.

Both Brady and Belichick are as disciplined and focused both short and long term as it gets. Amazing partnership with unreal results. We won’t see it again.

Bullsh.t. I’m a huge Bruins fan, they got beat. Great season for the Bruins but St.Louis finished, and won game 7 in the Garden, When teams play the biggest games they don’t always win them.

It has begun.

He can't help himself.

He just has to go public with his FUD and plant the seed that if the season goes south, it'll be on the new HC

Well that didn’t take long

Every comment he makes like that makes it that much harder to rationalize the scapegoating of McCarthy. If Rodgers had so much freedom to switch at the line, and he's so damned good at it, what was the problem?

Rodgers is such an entitled prick, wow. We are so lucky we have Tom.

AR does have talent and he can turn a game around with his skill. Up by one score, I’d still be scared if he had the ball and a bit of time.

Having said that : people who have been overrating him for years (goat talk) have ignored so much disappointment. If he was as great as some suggest, he would have more to show for it. It’s not like he didn’t have plenty of talent around him.

Beyond that : I’m quite confident AR isn’t a very good leader... Tom is universally bragged by almost all players. Even some players who have said they wanted to hate him, just couldn’t do it.

Winner vs whiner.
