Raiders could of traded back minimum 10 spots and still got him.

Why wouldn't you put him on the nose at times?
Not the best use for his best attributes - quickness off the snap and the ability to explode through gaps. He’s best used as a 3T.

Yaay, Raiders reach! This might cause quite the chain reaction in the 1st round. :)

I would have loved Ferrell on the Pats

Nice start, Mayock!

Doesn't shock me, Ferrell's either a guy you absolutely love and think will be the next Reggie White or you think he's fine and he doesn't wow you. I'm in the latter group (I'd take Chase Winovoch over him) but I can't blame someone for liking him. Great person too by all accounts.

So, I guess that mock that had Clelin falling to 32 was off a bit?

Maybe Oakland tried to move back but failed. And felt Ferrell wouldn’t be there at 24.

With today's liberal use of sub packages, there will be times where putting him on the nose works, IMO.

The Raiders scouts must be happy that they won't be tied to that reach.

Dunno why people get stuck on disparaging picks like Ferrell, guy's a heck of a player and if you suspect he's not going to be there when you next pick, take him.

They said there might be lots of trades in the top of the draft. So far nada. Seems like teams are not offering value to trade down, and the top of the draft teams are stuck.

Well if Oliver goes here it could jumpstart the McCoy trade talks

I’d double him and audible into a run right at him, then. Maybe in obvious third down situations, yeah. I’ll concede that. But second and third and short? Absolutely not.

If the Raiders have Ferrell as their best available player at #4 then all the power to them. I don't agree with the pick, I think Ed Oliver would have been the best possible pick.

So clearly Mayock has his own board, OTOH so does BB.

Because it was a reach according to the highly paid experts...but yeah, I mean if they like the guy that much so be it, but don't expect fans not to be shocked.

They had a good shot at getting both Oliver and Ferrell had they played it right. Just dumb.
