B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

I'll throw in another RB sleeper: the scourge of the Patriot League, Lehigh's Dominick Bragalone. DII All-American, 4-year All Patriot League, team captain with a heck of a power athletic profile. Just for fun, compare his measurables to Josh Jacobs:

Bragalone certainly beats Mattison on athleticism although Mattison is very explosive (3rd highest 10 yd split for a RB over 220lbs since 2010). Lance Zierleins’ Comp for Mattison is Mike Gillislee and he certainly looks fairly beastly in the RZ. I just love direct north-south runners that don’t hesitate.

Ideal late/udfa PTP. I'll be pulling for him.

I really like Gants game as well. He's a player imo so fun to watch. Makes plays from jump.

Elliss is kinda hit/miss but flashes big time & tested really well I believe. Almost a blend of J Collins/TJ Watt.

I think everyone should check them out.

Elliss has remarkable agility numbers.

I was reading about Valdosta CB Stephen Denmark. 6’2.5”. Check. 220lbs. Check. 4.46 forty. Check. 43.5” vert. Check. 7.40 3-cone...wait. What? Never mind.

Broughton should be talked about as a mid rounder, minimum. He's going to be a major steal.

Broughton is rated as a UDFA by NFLDraftScout, but high enough where someone could use a 6th or 7th on him.. Questions about his Junior Year..

I'm late to his tape, but I was impressed. He tested quite well and plays to his explosive traits. He's a quick, aggressive, active 3-tech who should be a long time starter in the league.

I like him a lot. Fun tape

He'll be a lot higher on my board than most. Idk, guys that can play always work for me. Don't have to spend months or years working on some big hole. One of the better r/r in the class. Vg hands. Can beat press. Not a lot he can't do tbh.

Been a rough last few months. Definitely not how I wanted to end the draft year, let down a few people but life happens. It is what it is. There's always 2020.
Almost done w my grades, starting to sweat a lil bit. Like usual their different from whats out there. I like different though. Just heard Matt Waldman has Hock/Smith as his highest TE hes ever graded. Can't wait to see how this class goes as the years go by.

So pretty. How to separate 101.

Think Finley took it on a re-test. I believe he got 25-28 his 1st time.

Just food for thought. Michael Sam "played better than he tested" as well and we see where his career took him..

Not saying that the kid will be a bust. Saying that disregarding the numbers totally is just as much a sure way to failure as ignoring tape.

I don't disagree about numbers are a useful tool. I'm posting this because of over the top enthusiasm Baldy used while describing Collier's playing profile.

Especially when it comes to edge rushers. That's probably the #1 position for measurables dominance.

I gave you an agree for this post, because in general I think you're spot on, but Sam had decent stats and no real translatable traits -- Collier, however, is only average in stats but has all the tools, technique, and traits that translate into production. He's one of my favorite players in this draft. I wish he had a little better agility, but his ability to generate power is awesome. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he ends up like Trey Flowers (another guy who didn't run that well but has exceptional leverage and hand fighting).

My guess is he goes to either the Raiders or Dolphins at 35 or 48 even with poor testing.

It's funny because it's basically in reverse order of how well they'll turn out as players. Bizarre to me the NFL still uses the Wonderlic. The NHL made its own cognitive test that specifically looks for stuff that's useful for hockey players!

It really is. You'd think there would be a more "specific" test for each group.
