B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

I honestly don't see how anyone could say out of all the big WRs Boykin had the best tape. I don't know what he was seeing but I just don't see how anyone could feel that way. Not that his tape was bad, it just wasn't that good.

Hit or miss class. I can see why some prefer safe this year.

I have to agree with you. From what I’ve seen it’s almost like he plays scared. If he can’t run by his defender than that’s pretty much it for him. Maybe it’s something that can coached up or maybe I’m completely off about him, I’m just not too big of a fan of his.

Yup he lost me there. Boykin had himself a great combine but his tape was average at best. If it was great he’d be in the discussion as a first rounder. I think he can a good player but to say his tape was better than butlers, no way.

Some draft props

NUMBER OF WR’S SELECTED IN ROUND 1
Wager cut off: 2019 25th April 4:00 PM
OVER 2½ -120
UNDER 2½ -120

15 times since 2000 teams have taken 3 or more WR's in the first.
I think Butler & DK are locks w Harry, Deebo & Brown pretty close.

’S DRAFTED IN 1ST ROUNDER
Wager cut off: 2019 25th April 4:00 PM
OVER 3½ -175
UNDER 3½ +145

Only 5 times since 2000 have 4 QB's been taken in Rd1.

Murray, Haskins & Lock are guarantees imo. Its all about if a team loves Jones/Grier enough to make #4. I highly doubt anyone takes them Rd1 but then again Lock is going top 15 so who knows.

Anyone heard anything about marquise Brown and his size?

Looking forward to the draft even though I have no idea what we will do

Big fan of all ...
Malik Gant
Kaden Elliss
Nick Allegretti

We need to seriously consider Nick Allegretti, interior OL from Illinois. Consider:

  • Team captain for 2 years
  • 42 on the wonderlic so v smart
  • A wrestling background
  • Can play all three interior line positions
  • Met with the Patriots
  • Apparently killed it at the Shrine Game
  • Same school as Ted Karras
Seems ideal for one of those 7th rounders.

Like the fact he’s had that wrestling background, he’s going to have very strong hands at the point of attack.

Yup, he's been in my mocks for a minute. I posted about him in the pro day thread, I believe. I'll find it later and link you. Center/guard versatility.

He’s going to replace Gaillard in my mocks...and spoiler alert..WILL be in my Patchick’s competition.

Have you watched RB Alexander Mattison? Seems like a good candidate for that big back contender. Another potential 7th rounder for me.

I'll throw in another RB sleeper: the scourge of the Patriot League, Lehigh's Dominick Bragalone. DII All-American, 4-year All Patriot League, team captain with a heck of a power athletic profile. Just for fun, compare his measurables to Josh Jacobs:

I watched him a lot but could never get that excited. Late rd/udfa I'd be happy.

Ideal late/udfa PTP. I'll be pulling for him.

I really like Gants game as well. He's a player imo so fun to watch. Makes plays from jump.

Elliss is kinda hit/miss but flashes big time & tested really well I believe. Almost a blend of J Collins/TJ Watt.

I think everyone should check them out.
