Yes, we will draft 9-12 plus add all the UDFA's. The open question is how many rookies will make the 53. For me, that calculation is 5-7 drafted in the first 4 rounds plus 1-4 in the later rounds (or UDFAs) for a total 6-11 rookies on the 53, less those that end up on IR or PUP.

Take away TB12 the Pats were still the 2nd oldest team in the NFL last year.

Not sure how many projected keepers they have from 2018 but I suspect they'll draft 9-12 players and not the 4-7 range.

The game is changing. It’s becoming a 7 on 7 passing drill. A kid like Fant fits much better into the type of football we are headed for. Gronk was a generational player. Can’t wait for next 87. I’d like to trade 73!and 32 for 21. Then, deal 64 and 4th to move up for a DE. Omenihu. Take a WR at 56 and 97. Maybe, Harmon and Herdiman

I would never give up a 3rd round pick and #32 for Fant. I think these day two picks we have are critical to a successful draft.

If we are offered a good deal at #32 which would include an early second, and one other day 2 pick, that would be ideal--because there's lots of parity in rounds 2-4.

I hear ya. Can’t stand the Steelers out here in Pa now. But, they just sit tight and go BPA. That’s not what BB usually does though. I’m guessing we trade up

MG isn't there always a draftee or two who ends up on the (what I'll call) 'available to compete for a spot next season' list? I've always assumed a less than season ending injury allows BB to put said injured draftee (or two) on that 'next year' list. So I assume BB has a spot or two all ready for one or two of these draftees thereby making the
'what draftee stays and what draftee goes' a smaller number (again this is purely my assumption)

I don't think we should be trading up at all unless Hockenson or one of top DE prospects fall (ex. say Clelin Ferrell or Rashan Gary). I am confident that at least one of AJ Brown and Noah Fant will be available at #32, but even if they aren't available I don't think they are that good for us to trade up. I consider staying put or even trading down a better option than trading up to draft Noah Fant.

I think you are right, TBS, although we don’t really see many “red shirters” succeed in their second years here, after spending their first year on IR.

I think Flowers is pretty much the outlier, and I suppose some make a case for Ben Watson back in 2004, too. Hopefully, we see that this year with Wynn.

Excellent point Sup. After I read your post I gave it some thought on the red shirts -- can't think of one that I remember become a contributor (which clearly means this year is the year for one to be a star )
