I prefer SNF over TNF....the first Thursday game always sucks....sloppy play with both teams feeling one out...and you are left wanting more.

I prefer 10AM PST games on Sunday...but SNF is OK...we can watch football all day along...and still have time to walk & feed the pup before SNF.

I think we are getting the Mayfield-Beckham show on SNF....

Goondell now has an excuse not to come to Gillette.

Then there is the scheduled appointment with his Dominatrix, "Mistress Tommy" that conflicts as well.

Would love to have the Browns in Gillette for the opener. Save the KC match up for the middle of the season. Browns are so hyped up right now with OBJ/Vernon acquisitions and rising star Baker Mayfield (vs. old man Tom) that it'd be a very fun match up for SNF. Plus we'd avoid Kareem Hunt the earlier we play the Browns.

Plus an early win would give us the tie breaker over them. Early prediction for the top 4 seeds are:

1. Pats
2. KC
3. Cleveland
4. Indy

I want an easy win, Miami on Sunday night opener

What about the Giants? Fans want to see the Patriots lose, and who better to root for than the lucky little awww shucks puke and his loveable underdogs? I think this has a good chance because it would get much better ratings opening night than later in the season.

I think if the Giants held onto OBJ it would have a better chance...

It will be hidden away on one of those Sunday 1:00 pm kickoffs.

Not that it matters because it is a preseason game but it would be kinda weird if we meet the Giants in W4 of the preseason and then on opening night.

Dallas seems like the easy guess.

Presumably they're saving Pats/Chiefs for later in the season, but is Pats/Steelers that much of a huge marquee matchup that they'd wait for later as well? They've played later in the season the last few years, but the Steelers didn't make the playoffs last year and didn't reach the AFC title game the year before. Pats opened up 2015 with the Steelers, I think it's reasonable to think they'd do it again this year. It's also a bit more compelling than just playing the Cowboys - yeah they have a large following (but so do the Steelers) but there's no rivalry between the Pats and Cowboys.

If this was the Thursday opener I would agree. But the alleged SNF slot just screams somehow Cowboys to me.

Fine with either to be honest.

I get it, but it is week 4 of the preseason. I don't think it matters that much. It's not like many quality players are playing in week 4 of the preseason. I wouldn't call that a deal breaker.

Preseason week 4 -> week 1 with the same teams has definitely happened before, maybe not with the Pats.

From the leaked Browns schedule:

@ Patriots Week 8 Oct 27 SNF
Any reason to think this source is reliable? Not being a smartass, but there always seem to be fake leaks going around this time of year.

I guess we’ll find out soon enough. I’m thinking it will be official at the end of next week—maybe Thursday.

Doubt it because Kareem Hunt wouldn't play....then again perhaps goodell doesn't want a serial criminal and thug returning on a prime time game...hmmm

Yeah, DAL makes the most sense of any of the teams.
