Tatupu, Adams and Francis all deserve to be in, already. Locks for the Patriots HOF. Stingley's a toss-up to me.

How Fairbanks can even be considered is beyond me. He made the 2 times in 7 years, was one and done both times and quit on the team before one of them.

I always felt moss tanked in that 2010 game vs the jets. He had a step on revis on a go and slowed down and revis picked in, them he gave a lame attempt at another ball leading to a pick.
Never considered this before but, given that he did nothing at all after being traded, maybe it wasn’t a lack of effort but that he was just shot.
That would also explain bb and Brady not holding a grudge

People forget Randy was 33 in 2010 and we all know BB doesn't throw big money at older players. I'm pretty sure in saying Randy wanted a new deal and BB took a wait and see approach with him. That ticked off Randy but then he realized (both here and in TN and SF) that he had in fact lost a little off his fastball. I would not be surprised if BB saw the same thing. I did have a point to make. Where do you go from 2 good seasons is ok for HoF (Randy 2007/2009) and 1 good season is not ok (Revis 2014). To me Randy also makes no sense.

Maybe don't embarrass the Sullivans by taking a 3rd-tier college job, when you're still employed by a professional football team, including recruiting players for Colorado, rather than, you know, putting in the effort to coach the team.

Fairbanks and Moss are very similar, except Moss actually won a playoff game with a stacked roster. Fairbanks couldn't even be assed to wait until the season was over to start recruiting for Colorado.

The Sullivans are far from perfect, but to put Fairbanks on them is ridiculous. It's not like Fairbanks didn't have a history of this ******** going back to Oklahoma.

Fairbanks was likely the second best coach behind Belichick. His mistake was working for a penny pinching owner. He was treated much more unfairly than Parcells, undercut and unsupported by the owner. You have been a respected poster for a long time on here. I assume you were present when he was coaching. I was in the stands for all of his games. We can disagree but he has my support and appreciation. The Sullivans tried hard but they just never had the capitol and always made things worse.

I don’t believe you induct a coach who never won a playoff game into a HOF because of an opinion about how much support he got.

The circumstances of the Hannah/Grey holdout and the team getting rid of Grey are a perfect example of the Sullivans stabbing Fairbanks in the back (which included reneging on a negotiated contract with a player). He was totally justified in getting the hell out there.

He doesn't need to be in the Hall for that. He is already honored in there for his touchdown record. Had they gone 19-0 though, I'd strongly consider it.

If they already have a picture of him and a note of his TD record, that seem good enough. I'd hope they put the Malcolm Butler interception with the same treatment. Save the jacket and bust for the legends.

They have the ball from the game winning pass that broke the touchdown record. Can’t recall what Butlers’ thing was, he definitely had pictures and stuff with the Super Bowl 49 stuff.

There are lots of "Goodbye, Chuckie" types who, while enthusiastic in support of the team, do not understand what is going on [see flying elvis]

Fairbanks is amazing. We were in fact terrible when he arrived, and we had maybe the smallest budget in the league then. That era was vastly different from today, yet he built the best team in the NFL in three and one half years.

Fairbanks not only made chicken salad out of leftovers, he made it his business to shoot for the top from the very first minute. He was used to winning championships, a tradition in Oklahoma. After winning 47 straight games (still the record), Bud Wilkinson famously said after finally losing one, "I will not be the coach of a losing football team."

From drafting exactly the right and best players, to getting top talent from the CFL, to hiring Ernie Adams right out of college (yup), to creating the 3-4 defense that remains predominantly used to this day, Fairbanks was a genius.

The only criticism I've heard is that he encouraged Plunkett to run, which got Jim killed...but not before we got a king's ransom from the 49ers for him.

The Colorado thing is what coaches do all the time.
