Guys not still playing:

Rodney Harrison
Mike Vrabel
Wes Welker
Deion Branch
Vince Wilfork
Rob Gronkowski
(Put Moss here)
Jerod Mayo
Rob Ninkovich
Logan Mankins

I'd put Moss in after Gronk on this list, make Mayo, Nink and Mankins wait a couple years.

A big point of the Hall is a history museum. I'd want to know about Moss as part of Patriots' history.
He doesn't need to be in the Hall for that. He is already honored in there for his touchdown record. Had they gone 19-0 though, I'd strongly consider it.

Deserving, maybe. But, how many of these guys is he in over?

Rodney Harrison
Mike Vrabel
Logan Mankins
Wes Welker
Adam Vinatieri
Bill Belichick
Tom Brady
Deion Branch
Dont’a Hightower
Patrick Chung
Vince Wilfork
Rob Gronkowski
Julian Edelman
Devin McCourty
Rob Ninkovich
Jerod Mayo
James White

Curran mentioned Chung as having a strong case the other day and I don’t even see him in. There’s a VERY VERY crowded field.
Surefire Pats HoF'ers from that list;

Belichick
Brady
Edelman
Gronk
Vinatieri
Rodney
Wilfork

The rest I'm not so sure about. Probably a yes for McCourty especially given his leadership, tenure and consistency. After that I think Randy is in the mix.

There are multiple NEP HoF who do not have rings.

Thanks for pointing this out. I largely agreed with Andy's post until that last sentence, which is inaccurate and seemed like a classless dig.

Just so I'm clear ... it's fortunate that Randy Moss didn't win any rings with the Patriots because the lack of rings (in Andy's mind) guarantees that Moss won't get into the NEPHOF, which is a good thing because Andy feels Moss doesn't deserve that honor.

Essentially, I don't feel Moss deserves the honor of being enshrined in the NEPHOF, and therefore I'm happy he didn't win any rings because otherwise Moss might actually get in, which is at odds with what I believe is right.

What a lousy line of thinking.

There's so many guys who played here longer that were instrumental to championship runs.

Malcolm Butler for instance probably deserves it more.

It comes down to what the criteria are. Has Kraft/Belichick ever communicated what, exactly, goes into their evaluation process?

If it's based upon talent and statistical output, Moss is a no-brainer. If it's based upon team achievement and longevity, he won't be enshrined.

My gut feeling says "no" but I'd need to take more time to consider things before feeling confident with that decision.

It isn't a Kraft/Belichick evaluation process

Wtf?
How do you get that out of my post?

Fortunately meant we are fortunate to have won so many championships that we have rings as a criteria to be a patriot HOFer.

Totally not what I am saying.

I have nothing against moss ( other than his lame effort in his last season but that’s a minor blur on his record) but think that players instrumental in multiple championship are at the top of the list of top patriots worthy of hof induction.

I believe he should. I believe that part of Brady legacy is tied to Randy. The Brady to Moss game legit help solidify Brady as the best, with that alone I think it is deserving enough.

NO<NO<NO. One trick pony, blocking was maybe getting in the way, quit on the team. Good receiver, NOT worthy of the Patriots Hall of Fame.
Ok, take a look at the voting results

Yes 2007 was an unbelievable season.

A good example of a one trick pony would be someone like ted ginn.

Moss is regarded as the 2nd greatest wr ever.

Tom's not even retired yet, and all the rest of those should WAIT.

Julius Adams
Russ Francis
Chuck Fairbanks
Mosi Tatupu
Darryl Stingley

All should be in now. First. Russ is the only one who can, but ALL should have been able to experience the honor before they passed. All of them. That they didn't and still haven't is sheer, utter ignorance and stupidity.

Morons in the media and this fan base are like Trekkers obsessed with the idea that a red shirt means automatic demise

...oblivious to Scottish engineers and African American women

Mack Herron.
Irving Fryar.
Tony Collins.
Jim Plunkett.

All had their great times here, and none is going into the hall.

Most of the committee agrees with you.

I myself do not hold Adams, Francis, Fairbanks, Tatupu or Stingley responsible for Dreith, Tatum or Sullivan-each of whom committed extraordinarily egregious acts to steal rings from the Patriots.

I say no. Not here long enough. Hate how he quit on the team his last season.
We are fortunate enough that rings are a criteria and he had none.
' I don't think "rings" should be a criteria. Rings are a TEAM accomplishment. The Pats HOF is an INDIVIDUAL accomplishment.

That being said, while Moss IS definitely a first ballot HOFer in Canton, his short stay here in NE and the way he left SHOULD disqualify him for the Pats HOF, regardless of how productive he was in those 3 years.
