I actually liked him as a RB. But I guess the feeling is he wouldn't hold up doing that all the time, and 5 million bucks is a lot of money for a guy you might run off tackle every now and then.

Well with Patterson gone to the Bears, I'd say that Deebo Samuel is looking even more attractive as a draft selection for the Patriots. He can fill the kick return and jet sweep receiver roles that the Pats used Patterson in.

Our best two wide receivers from last year Edelman and Gordon (pending big if of staying clean) will be back this year.

Beyond that, no one is a loss to me. There's a reason WR was our biggest need, we need new guys.

Couldn’t agree more ....can’t deny that the guy was a total “patriot” and did everything that was asked of him and then some! Guy literally WAS our running game for a few games and always fought hard for extra yards! Very bummed out at this one as is I agree with you Joe....Really hoped he would come back to Pats!
