Patriots Trade for Michael Bennett

Very interesting...I'm pretty sure this move wasn't made without Schiano signing on to it. In any case:

Again that comment was made based on experiences back in 2012. And while it's fair to bring it up, those experiences are likely to have very little relevance in 2019....except of course on F&M.

JFC what difference does a players politics have on the football field? Do they wear different jerseys based on their political views?

Also, did you just rate your own post "winner?" I didn't even know you could do that, lol.
Must be getting old or there's too many captains, lol.

Captain stone rated captain insano's post winner. Still f*cking funny

I didn't say anything about his politics. wtf are you talking about? what does lying to the police about a racism charge and assaulting somebody have to do with politics?

Nepotism would be BB having his kids on the coaching staff or Robert Kraft having his kids in management.

Sorry, Webster ... going with a loose definition here

I thought everyone was on board the Jesse James wagon...if you had to pick one, who would it be?

Edit: sorry wrong thread. I'm getting the Bennett threads mixed up. Lol

Great trade for NE, low cost, potential high reward. If they can sign Flowers it’s going to be a nasty pass rush.

James or Marty? James on a long-term deal, no question.

I'd greatly prefer the old Marty for a year, but I doubt he's anywhere near the old Marty. I doubt Gronk stays more than this year, if he's even back, and James is a reliable replacement if they can't find a stud in the draft and a valuable piece even if they can.

Deossie was filling in on WEEI about 6 weeks ago and he told a story about talking football with Steven Belichick when he was about 13 years old, and Deossie said he was over his head in a couple of minutes. Belichick is going to grill his kids harder than anyone else, whatever they get will be hard earned.

I know they said they need to free up cap space but if so, why was it this contract?

Even with him they're still something like 22 million below their cap. If they really feel a need to dump a contract I think Agholpr makes more sense. 9.4 million on a #2 WR?

To me that makes a lot more sense. So again I ask left asking why drop the better player with the better contract and lower salary?
Agholar 'only' made $3 million last year and I doubt the Eagles keep him at the higher number. They are rumored to be trying to trade him but that's unlikely. He will either renegotiate or likely get cut. His drops still hurt them at the worst possible time...

I know, came across as professorial instead of sarcastic. I also got chevy's joke.

Vigorously scratching a wooden post!!!!

No ****. 90% of board was all over JJ then the Marty overture came out and now JJ is about as interesting as a sore throat

He was 10 actually at the time, not 13. Can you imagine the football knowledge you would pick living with BB?

I couldn’t care less about his politics. Martellus has the same politics and I’m all for him coming back. What I DO care about is the fact that he’s a lying scumbag and his lies threatened the livelihood and the ability to put bread on the table for the cops that dealt with him that night even though they cut him loose based on a GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH.

There’s cap room to resign Flowers and make all the other moves needed. Flower’s 2019 cap hit would be nothing near the AAV (average annual value) of the contract. Just like the Gilmore contract, there would be a substantial signing bonus which would be amortized over the length of the contract. Even a $17 million AAV could have a 2019 cap hit of as little as $ 5 million or so easily.
