Would the Patriots consider bringing back Jamie Collins?

He signed a 4/50 deal at 12.5m, only two years ago. Of course he won’t see anything close to that, but he might see half, and NE isn’t going to spend that kind of money. Especially not for him.

Everyone overlooks all the beast plays the Collins made in NE and with the Browns.

If hes changed his attitude I'd take him back tommorow.

I would be nice to have him and Hightower blitzing as a tandem again. My only issue is KVN. Can they really fit all three on the defence. And as much as I'd like to see a fixed Jamie Collins back (if that's still possible), I wouldn't want KVN to lose snaps.

They wanted to sign Collins but he wanted more than they wanted to give him, that’s when he started going off the reservation and freelancing Belichick would take him back at the right numbers, but he and Caserio would do due diligence regarding the state of his play over the past couple of seasons. He may not be quite as explosive as he was but it’s hard to believe he deteriorated so dramatically athletically that he wouldn’t be worth the shot. Right now however they have more important issues to resolve,

Gonna vote no, he did not do what was expected of him here and had a similar experience in Cleveland... remember all the discussion about his freelancing and not "holding the edge"... not sure much, if anything has changed. A great athlete, with great ability, but difficult to coach...

It should be perfectly clear at this point that it doesn't matter how much you can rush if you sell out the run with BB. If you can't do both, you don't see the field or you end up being a situational player for him. You don't have to be all world at either, but you have to play it straight. Collins was sent packing because he was one-dimensional and that hasn't changed. He's flashed but he could be exposed by better teams and that's why he was considered expendable.

For every beast play there is a beat play.

That's what I'm saying how quickly some forget.

rob: heres the thing Collins won't have a big FA following or market he might be viewed as a product of the Patriots systems. We know BB can Scheme around what a player does best and put them in position. Yeah I know its said that Jamie free lanced here let's call it water under the bridge and hope he didn't burn any when he left here. Jamie's best Highlights are as a Patriot nuff said!

Bill expects consistency, dependability and reliability. If Jamie can demonstrate those 3 things and is the player we saw inthe 2016 game vs HOU I absolutely want him here. If he does come here it'll be a deal based on # of snaps.

If hes the player bs BUF a few weeks later that same year, nope.

But did we all think that KVN had the ceiling he's displaying now?? I thought he would be just an average player: he's now above average. And I always thought Jamie Collins was better player hands down.

You know I didn't think that this past 2018 Team could win a SB there were deficiencies on both sides of the ball. I think this Team have so much potential going forward with some retooling. We are going to have two literal Draft classes in TC. Wynn - Dawson - Bentley - Barrios and Izzo plus the 2019 Draft Class wow!

Agree.

2018 was supposed to be the "stay competitive but retool/reload year".

BB the coach hurt BB the GM :p

At one point, defenses were scheming around him, if the Monday night crew were to be believed (and Collins was playing at a high level).

Then the wheels fell off.

I'll trust BB on this. He knows Collins and what JC is capable of doing. A 1-year prove it might work, as Collins really isn't in a great shape as a FA after his Browns stint.

EDIT: ps. LeGarrett Blount LITERALLY walked away from a team and the Pats took him back.

That's a pretty sunny, makin-lemonade-y take on most of the 2018 draft class missing a year of play and practicing.
