By yardage, Patriots postseason run most dominant since 1989 Niners

Yeah, those three years, 1988, 1989 and 1990 were absolutely dominant by the 49ers. I think people forgot how good the 49ers were in the 80's and 90's. Very similar to this Pats era.
Forgot or they never saw them play

88 team was better.

Not even close. The 89 team went 14-2 and crushed everyone in the playoffs. The 10-6 88 team came out of nowhere. The 90 team was also 14-2 and not for B.B. fantastic defensive game plan would gone to the SB.

I like how this talk ends with BB beating the 49ers. I guess it wouldn't be that hard to project him beating them with these men.

Yes, and honestly, that game was as much of a masterpiece by BB as the SB. That 49er team was absolutely dominant and the Giants completely shut them down. Total domination.

I hope people are not comparing the two teams.

That 49ers team was hell on wheels.
I'd put that team up against just about any from the modern era. They smoked the Broncos in the SB. I'd love to see them up against the 2004 Pats, or maybe the 2007 Pats after the Bills away game, before they got gassed. Hell on wheels indeed.

The thing about the 49ers in the 80s is people think of them as all offense when in actuality the D was dominant.

Yeah, if you watch those game, you will see how much different football was. Much more violent of a game. Some of those hits by Ronnie Lot (just in that game!) would not only get him flagged, they would cost him $20-50K in fines.
