The Pats had trouble on 3rd and short or GL ALL year. Things that we took for granted in the days of LGB and others. I thought Hill's loss was one of the most under reported stories of the season. It really hurt the offense throughout the season.

Unless they draft someone who is a big RB, I would expect to see Hill at TC. I can't imagine him being much of cap issue at this point. If he returns healthy, there would be an important role for him to fill.

I hope Hill does come back and re sign with the Pats. He would be useful as an inside runner, especially in the red zone. Also, he would offer some depth behind Sony, especially if Burkhead leaves.

I was concerned as well.

After the DET game they took the training wheels off of Sony.

Cherry-picked numbers of the day: In the 14 games (inc playoffs and after DET) he played in, he had 256 carries (18.3 a game) had 1183 yds (84 a game) and 12 TDs (almost 1 a game)

In that stretch, the # of carries per game were the most since Dillon in 04 (Ridley was 18.1 in 2012)

It'll be interesting to see how much more work they give him in 2019.
