Passing of the tourch.

1) Mahomes is not a rookie. He'll be starting his third season next year.

2) He's 0-2 against the Patriots, once at home, once away, taking 6 sacks and going a Tebow-esque 39-77 in those two games.

3) You don't get the 'torch passed' until you've actually a) Outplayed the other guy and/or b) Actually beat the other guy.

You sound pathetic, and you're being laughed at.

It is his rookie season by playing standards, first full season, he is 0-2 against the pats because of hoodie out coaching reid. Mahomes out played brady in both matchups. Again torch passed.

Guys look its not to put shame on the dude, Brady is the best QB to play the game, but I use the past tense, WAS the best. Football is about all 53 players and coaching. If you look at Mahomes he played great in the playoffs, played much better than Brady head to head but his coaching let him down. You guys have to admit that its in a individual sport, if it was then it would be obvious. You put the Hoodie on the Chiefs this year they win by 17 or more. You have a better coached team and its not even close. But outside of Pats fans I think 99% of America can easily see the torch was passed, not as a team but as a individual.
Mahomes was the best quarterback this year in the regular season. Brady's season is still being written.

If Mahomes is so wonderful, why didn't his coach have enough confidence in him to go for the win on 2nd and 10 at the NE 22 with 11 seconds left? Instead he went for the tie and let the coin toss decide their fate.

No timeouts left and if it was caught short of the goal line then game over. The Pats were playing everyone deep to make sure it couldn't be caught in the end zone.

It is his rookie season playing. Like I had posted earlier, he came out as a junior and is only 23 years old ( same as baker mayfied) only played one scrub game at the end that didn't matter with backups and this was his first real ( rookie) season as a pro. No one has EVER come close to what he did.
Except for Brady, who won a SB ring.

Clearly statistics are more important to you than titles which, given that you’re a Chiefs fan, isn’t that surprising...

Genius should clearly be reserved for those who are smarter than the rest of us.

Why they did not take another shot is a mystery. Maybe Reid has bad eyesight and thought the clock said :01.

Why are you people still feeding the troll? I'd get it, if he were offering something new or substantive. But he's just repeating the same crap over and over, and you're all still biting.

Y'all have turned this thread into something like a bad sequel to Groundhog Day.

If you really want a "torch" based on single season stats rather than wins, Matt Ryan took that from Peyton Manning back in 2016. Maybe go to the Falcons board and take it up with them. In the meantime we'll be here with our Super Bowl victories.

The QB is measured by winning, and by how many points he leads his team to. In both games and by both measures Brady outplayed Mahomes, and no “!torch” is ever passed until it is taken away by winning. By your definition the Jets get the torch passed to them twice a year every year. Congratulations on being satisfied with your two losses, low expectations made it far easier to reach your goal-2nd place.

I'm ashamed that people are still falling for this guy's shtick.

That's called "his first year as a starter."

I know you desperately want to call him a rookie, but that word had a specific meaning with specific criteria. Mahomes does not fit those criteria. You can keep saying it over and over but that won't make it true.

BTW, Tom Brady won the Super Bowl in his first year as a starter. But hey, congrats on that Pro Bowl thingy you guys did yesterday.... I heard it was fun....

this KC mutt needs his d!ck superglued to his leg...maybe that will divert his attention from all these mongo posts he keeps vomiting up.

Why did the thread title get spelled correctly??!! The gross misspelling was indicative of what was inside...the “tourch” should’ve stayed....it spoke volumes.

I am FURIOUS about this!!! How do you contact the moderators??? This thread was perfect and now has been ruined. Please, please tell me some unknowing mod didn’t come through and correct the spelling without realizing just how critical it is to this thread, and maybe the universe as a whole.

I don't get how you can keep going on and on about a guy who was actually pretty mediocre was so awesome in the playoffs. In 2 games, your boy has complete 59 percent of his passes for 573, 3 TDs and has been sacked 8 times and fumbled once. Brady, who has also played 2 games, has completed 71 percent of his passes, 691 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs (one of which wasn't his fault), 0 sacks and 0 fumbles.

You don't seem to get it. Your boy didn't play better than Brady and he didn't play well enough to win.

Words have meanings. That is not what rookie means.
