Passing of the tourch.

It never ceases to amaze me how fans from the parade of Pats victims over the years don't get it. And many of the media are the same.

Even better, and more relevant, is that I believe at least half of the coaches, scouts, and team personnel around the league STILL don't get what makes winning football players like TB12. Probably one of the NEP's enduring advantages--competitors egotististical lack of self-evaluation, falling in love with visible shiny talent

The greatest advantages shall never be spoken. ;)

A whole years worth of tape on him now. And I think teams will start to use the blueprint we showed last night to guard against Hill.
Agree, but not every team has the Patriots coaching/discipline

The Patriots got sacks because KC wanted to run long routes and Mahomes doesn’t throw short on 3rd and long. The Chiefs passing offense is vertical which gives other teams time to get after the quarterback. I was disappointed Reid wasn’t more prepared for the Patriots in-your-face defense until the second half.

They were also successful at causing confusion with their blitzes. A more experienced QB could’ve diagnosed these and audibled better. This is an area where people underrate Brady and it’s part of why he is the GOAT and still the best in January (and February)

The “blueprint” is out there but I’m skeptical at how successful other teams will be with it in 2019

More successful than you think. Now that there's tape, you'll see teams keeping 2 safeties back, and clogging the middle of the field. There's no need to guard near the LOS, since Mahomes doesn't know how to check down. He'll just keep running backward.

You gotta have the personnel in the secondary to do it. Good cover corners and fast safeties.

The Patriots got some coverage pressure, but I think your second point is the most impactful. Mahomes couldn't keep ahead of the Patriots line games and blitzes.

Also, the Patriots did an incredible job containing Mahomes in the pocket and staying close enough when he did escape that he couldn't reset his feet and throw.

On the drive prior to the Ford penalty, the Patriots recovered a fumble. The Patriots would have had a 4 point lead, the ball at the Chiefs 20, and the ability to kill most of the 3+ minutes left on the clock or, at a minimum, force the Chiefs to burn both of their remaining timeouts. And, given the location of the recovery, we can at least acknowledge that the odds are wildly in favor of that leading at least to a FG, which would have given the Patriots a 7 point lead So, the idea that it took a legitimate call to save the Patriots asses from what would otherwise have been a turnover is more than countered by the fact that said call only came after a much more questionable call saved the Chiefs asses from what would otherwise have been a turnover and put the Patriots in position to close out the game.

As I said, the guy's trolling.

Not to mention the blatant pick play that handed the a TD.

Agree, but it sort of depends on Mahomes taking the next step this offseason. And even when things go badly Mahomes has never been “shutdown” for 60 minutes. The fewest we’ve scored with him in 19 games is 26 points.

However, if he doesn’t improve this offseason then it could be a problem.

If he's better in his third year, after every team has a year's worth of tape on him, than he was in his 2nd, I'd be very surprised.

If he learns to check down, and read progressions, then he'll be onto something. Otherwise he's just a brittle Brett Favre, who never won anything without hall of famers on defense.

Brittle? He never got hurt

He was limping badly at points in each of the two playoff games.

No one gets that lucky with injury when you play that way. He misses games next year.

No one can ever tell.

Who would’ve expected Brady to never miss a game? He took a horrible beating in Denver and came back next year and won the Superbowl.

Mahomes knee fell right into a Colts face mask. He came back next drive and scored a diving touchdown

Yesterday he suffered a low hit to the knee (penalty) and kept playing. Both hits happened inside the pocket. They weren’t related to his scrambling.

1) Brady missed an entire season.
2) Watch.

Brady had one season in 18 years where he missed playing time (2008)

Injuries are unpredictable and sometimes based on luck (or lack thereof).

Yes, and he missed an entire season, not 'missed time'.

Every QB gets hurt. Every one. When I see a QB limping around after some generic, pedestrian contact, two weeks in a row - because he's barely been touched all season, that's a red flag.

He'll miss games next year. He doesn't know how to protect himself.

I’ve seen the same thing happen to Brady and Favre. Get hurt, limp, walk it off.

Mahomes has been no different so far. And you haven’t watched KC, Mahomes has taken alot of hits all year.

Like I said, nobody knows anything about player injuries. This is the same guy who put up 819 yards against Oklahoma with an AC sprain and a broken wrist. Didn’t get surgery until after the season

Nobody knows.

Also, the neutral zone infraction didn't influence the play because the Chiefs got their ****s pushed in by the Patriots OL. Your player lined up offsides and still got stoned. He lined up offsides because he knew he couldn't get to the quarterback if he didn't, and he still couldn't do it.

This is really pathetic, man. You're essentially highlighting the shortcomings of your team in some desperate attempt to, I don't know, make the outcome retroactively change?

I mean, if it makes you feel better, I'm not one to stop you, but let it be known that several people here with a much more rational view of the situation because we aren't skewed by the disappointment of defeat have warned you that you're embarrassing yourself.

You're on another team's message board right now rationalizing an extremely close loss because an unequivocally correct call was made and because the rules of overtime are what they are. It's way beyond pitiful.

You are too funny! You are right even with him offsides he couldn't get to Brady which is my point exactly. Him lining up offsides or not makes zero difference on the play, then Brady throws the pick game over chiefs win. Thank you for understanding what I'm saying!

Using your logic, Pats win in regulation on that fumble that was called back because of a totally unrelated hold on the other side of the field.
