AFC Championship: We are on to Kansas City!

We may be forced to go for it on a few 4th downs again. Hopefully, we handle business on the first 3 downs & won’t have to.

Why is a game in Week 2 against the Jaguars relevant to any discussion about anything?

In significantly more recent history, the Pats just blew a very good Chargers' team off the field. That same team beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead a month ago. That's a lot better comparator than any of yours'.

It's the AFC Championship Game. Frankly, comparators don't matter. We'll see how it goes, as some old coach often says.

None of it matters. I was responding to someone that said all of our good defensive games were against crappy opponents. I don't believe it's true. And I don't believe our Chargers home loss a month ago is any more significant to Sunday than your Dolphins road loss a month ago. I'm only saying that our defense may not just let you score on every single play like is being considered here. We have some guys back and we play better at home.

Everyone here is being way too dismissive of these Chiefs fans points here. Stop being a bunch of homers and recognize that yes, the Chiefs have a lot of things going for them for this game. They have more things going for them then the Pats do and that’s a fact. Does that mean that they’ll surely win? Obviously not. But they are favored and rightly so. If this was in Foxboro it would be different but it isn’t.

Tell me about Gronk. Is it just injuries still causing him to be quieter than normal? He might very well have been considered the best all time tight end if he had been able to stay healthy his entire career.

Maybe one last go between Eric Berry and Gronk. Both of them got robbed.

It is believed Gronk has been dealing with a high ankle sprain for most of the year in addition to his chronic back issues.

I personally believe hes lost a step. Hes not a crisp in/out of his breaks and seems like hes lost a bit of that burst.

With that said hes still a mauler run and pass blocking and moves well in that regard.

Some think the coaches are conserving him for KC and hopefully the SB. I am not one of those.

I think hes getting close to calling it a career.

Yes. Do you factor in the 6 games you play against three of the four worst offenses in the NFL when you evaluate your defense? Against common opponents, you gave up 24 to the Colts. We gave them 13, 7 from a blocked punt. The Jags scored 31 on you, 14 on us. The Chargers we played twice once 28 and once 29. They scored 28 on you. The Steelers were the only common opponent that scored significantly more on us than on you.

And we dropped 40 on you in your place. I'm scared of your offense. I respect your defense. And if you want to believe ours is the worst defense ever then that's fine. I'm just telling you that I think it's better than you think.
you're the one saying how good your defense is at home. you're the one factoring in powerhouses like the raiders and 49's, lol.
Chargers beat you at home, they were never in the game with us. You're actually using the last 21 garbage points they scored to compare? Did you even watch the game?

If you want to say that the Chiefs beat up bad competition at home then you have to say that the Pats lost to bad competition on the road.

And if you want to say that the Pats road woes in the regular season don’t matter for this game than how can you argue that the Chiefs regular season matters?

I'm not saying anything about the Pat's on the road. I'm just pointing out your claim that the Chiefs defense is better at home is hollow if you ignore who the competition was.

We don't really know. He has had back problems this year. Anyone who has played sports and has had back problems knows how limiting it may be.

Gronk has had those problems before. He has overcome them and had great seasons. BUT, the talk over the last 2 years of him retiring may just be a signal that he's been battling this back problem for awhile and that, unlike when he had this problem earlier in his career, it's not going away.

That being said, back problems come and go, and if he somehow heals over the offseason, it would not be shocking (to me) to see him return to form. He is still only 29. I don't think he has lost his legs.

The Chiefs D is better at home because of the huge home field advantage. It's so loud there that offenses have trouble with cadences, snaps, going offside, audibles, etc. How could that NOT aid the defense? Of course it is better.

Absolutely.

You seem to be having difficulty with the concept of the difference between not as terrible as you think vs good. The 49ers when we played them had Garoppalo still btw and were still highly regarded and undefeated. And we were ahead of the Chargers 31-12 going into the 4th quarter and gave up garbage points once and 28-14 the other 4th quarter.

Like I said, if you want to believe we have no defense, that's fine with me. Maybe we don't.

We have some guys back and we play better at home.

You guys have a terrible pass defense and an even bigger garbage run defense. But keep crossing your fingers that the 30 year old safety who has not played a full game in about 2 years will turn into football Jesus and turn it all around. And excuse me if I am not particularly nervous about your pass rush after we handled a significantly better one just last week.

Similarly, once a team gets through your scripted plays on offense there really is also not too much to be afraid there in that smokes and mirrors offense. Kelce, your oversized slot WR, can easily be held under ~80 yards by being physical and is a liability in the run game, Benjamin too fat to make the roster and Watkins mostly irrelevant.

The only elite player on offense is Hill. He will get his but unless we **** ourselves with turnovers, drops or redzone brainfarts this will not be enough to win the game. And you will disappear like all of those novelty visitors on here never to be seen again.

Business as usual.

I think you have some really good players on defense like Houston, Jones and Ford but you can’t determine whether the unit as a whole has improved simply because of the Oakland and Indy games. Oakland is a bottom feeder team, and the Indy game may have been an aberration. it’s too small a sample size.

Kelce is elite, don’t kid yourself.

He is a top 20 WR. Yeah.

Well if every offensive weapon the Chiefs have aside from Hill is overrated that just means that Mahomes is that much more talented because he’s able to elevate the rest of his offense not too dissimilar to what Brady’s done for 2 decades.

He is a top 20 WR. Yeah.

He's 10th in the league in yards and tied for 6th in receiving TDs. He just set the single season receiving yardage record for a tight end. I don't think you can say he's not elite. And our quarterback just became the 2nd ever 5000/50 quarterback and is probably the MVP. Also elite.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet but the weather forecast is now showing a low if 22

This is what Pats homers do. Suddenly the opposing team which may very well have had a better season both statistically and record wise than the Pats is overrated. They’ll dive into next gen stats like DVOA, which they normally ignore because theyll say that stats don’t tell the full story, to pick and choose stuff that proves their point. Suddenly strength of schedule becomes important, unless the Pats had a weak schedule in which case it doesn’t matter because you can’t use regular season games to predict the playoffs. It’s insufferable.
