Gerry Callahan is a Pats and Brady homer. I listen to his show here and there, but always the Brady interview.I listen via the WEEI app, but not usually live. I listen to the interviews each week with Brady, Belichick, player interviews, along with Bruschi, Curran, etc. The on-demand audio makes it easy to get the important stuff and skip the rest. Get the stuff that matters and then move on with my life
This momentous life choice turned out to be everything I hoped it could be... a soothing balm of non-negativity. Day after day completely devoid of idiot jocks trolling us fans and bashing Brady, BB, the offense, the defense... I just spent time on this wonderful site, and, you know, actually watching the games.
Today, I briefly lost my mind, paused my radio ban and tuned in Blowhard with Squeaky and the Douche on 98.5.
First words out of Blowhard's mouth were, 'the Chargers are better passing than the Pats... better running... better on defense... and MAYBE the Pats have a SLIGHT edge on special teams. The Patriots will need TWO special teams or defensive scores to win this game.'
And just like that... the Boston sports radio ban is back.
This time, though...
PERMA-ban.
one of our cats didn't even need them to do that.
It's strange to me how Bostonians like to think of themselves as being smaaaht but so many haven't figured out that the BS talk radio hosts are just winding them up (to use a UK expression). It would be one thing if the ahh er 'on air personalities had insightful comments but in Boston at least its all about getting ratings through bashing the teams, its absured.

At one time (in the mid ninties) sports radio was pretty good. There was eei, the score in RI, and a show out of worchester that featured tanguy. Although i use to hate when eddie andelman came on, most of the time he would talk about trips to resturants, casinos, and toll both workers. But back then there was none of this negative, trash your, your team crap. It's strange to me how Bostonians like to think of themselves as being smaaaht but so many haven't figured out that the BS talk radio hosts are just winding them up (to use a UK expression).
How hard is it to figure out that the Felgers of this world don't actually have to analyze anything if all they have to do is dump as much negativity as they can muster, knowing that it'll massively trigger their audience?
Not so smaaaaht after all...
I've been getting all my sports info from web sites (like this one!) and from podcasts for at least the last four years, and I have no interest in wasting my time on BS sports talk ever again.
Dale and Keefe were my last hope and, as I wrote today in another thread, even their negativity this morning caused me to go to music. A sports city and region such as this one deserves far, far better. By and large, sports talk radio and the local sports TV shows are embarrassingly bad.
Well, I’m in Nashville and listen to WEEI daily. I hate country music and the sports talk radio here is terrible. I mean, terrible. So maybe I’m in the minority, but I enjoy it most of the time. 98.5 the hub on the other hand, wow, it’s like they HATE the Pats. I don’t listen to them.
You live in Nashville and hate country music.....LOL
No good hockey talk about the Predators?
I'm not a country music fan here so I hear ya on that...but the wife is. Nashville is a great city.Yeah I know rIght? Yeah, 102.5 does a good job covering the Preds, I’m just in Football mode still and I like to keep up with stuff daily this time of year. Last guy they had worth a damn down here for sports talk was Clay Travis, he was entertaining. Got the Bama faithful spun up constantly.
