My nominees for Patriots who contributed consistently, stars to journeymen.
--------
Gilmore
obviously a star, but he set the tone IMO.

JC Jackson didn't get a chance right away, but when he did, a surprisingly consistent CB.

Kyle Van Noy with lots of energy and pass rush when our other units were fair. Hope Hightower's healthy, but VN played big all the way IMO.

Lawrence Guy, undersized DT who filled a needed position. Worked, fought every game and kept things from falling apart IMO.

Trent Bown: I along with everybody wondered if he could step right in at LT after playing RT. I think he was a big plus.

Punter stats are impossible to analyze but, after some TC competition, I thought Ryan Allen was consistent and reliable.

Sorry if I hit your picks, but any others you feel contributed all the way, or more than expected?

Cordarelle Patterson gets a gold star from me. I was incredibly hard on him at the start of the season but he really put the team first and was willing to do whatever the team needed him to do. Classic patriot mentality.

I love Cordarelle. Not only wicked exciting, but his attitude was really positive and energetic.

I would like to nominate Trey Flowers for that list.

Is Trey Flowers a better investment for Patriots than Jadeveon Clowney? Rob Ninkovich thinks so

While he may not be a 'stem-to-stern' player, Sony Michel stepped up as a rookie after injuries to Rex Burkhead and Jeremy Hill left the Pats thin at RB - and a depleted receiving group put more pressure on the running game to contribute more and control the offense.

James Devlin - has been massive for us in the run game. Sony would of had 1000 Yards in my opinion if he didn’t get injured as well as flags. A lot of that has to come from Devlin taking 1-2 guys out at a time.

The secondary - the amount of experience there has certainly helped our next lockdown corner in JC Jackson. Not sure he would of progressed as quick as he did without their help

He seems like one of those contagious positive attitude type of guys. He just brought "it" every game.

Agree about Develin. Allen helped the outside running game as much as Develin helped in the A-gaps and B-gaps.

JMac certainly did a great job holding down the left boundary while Jackson was developing. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that JMac mentored Jackson a bit.

Philip Dorsett. 100% catch rate over the last some odd games. Team first.

Andrews - Captain of the OL. The communicator. The undersized beast.

Edelman - The lovable ass whole. The rabid squirrel. the "gotta believe" guy.

Sony can credit Devlin for creating more carrying opportunities for him. Conspiracy?

I realized I had obviously left out Flowers. He's probably an MVP candidate for our team so I was sure he would be mentioned. I'm a huge Sony fan. Tough to be a rookie then miss with injuries at the start. Got his rhythm going enough to show me he can be a big time back.

The big plays should come from our secondary. As long as we don't leak elsewher on D they should dominate. I think we'll need more than just OK defense this year, our O is good, but not necessarily consistent.
