You've been a Pats fan for a long time.
Take a deep breath. Think of all the times from "Patriots won't win another game this season" in 2001 after Bledsoe got hurt, to Tom Jackson's infamous "they hate their coach", to the 41-14 blowout loss to drop to 2-2 in 2014, to a 16-0 home loss to Buffalo two years ago, to ... well, almost every loss over the last 18 years.
It happens. It happens at some point to every team that goes on to win the Super Bowl in any season in this era.
Will the Patriots win it all? Doubtful; never bet on one team against the field.
But in my opinion there is not another team in the NFL that does not have similar flaws.
I'm not going to get all worked up over this game; to me it's not worth it. Personally, I'll enjoy the ride and see what happens before I declare the season to be over.
I like this post. But I just can’t see any way the Pats win this game. Pittsburgh is gonna be foaming at the mouth after their loss. At home, with a chance to finally beat their nemesis. Pats 2018 are not a mentally tough, or plain and simple, a talented team. Truly bereft of talent, and all of the talent they have is mostly on the offensive side of the ball. BUT, not an offense that scares anyone. I’ve not seen a defense this putrid since the bad old days. NEVER get a stop when most needed.
This team is just wildly inconsistent. A week after possibly their most complete game vs a good team, good offense and defense, they **** the bed when they had a chance to clinch the division and give themselves a chance at the #2 seed. This isn’t an early season clunker, by this point in the season, you are who you are. They are 2-2 in their last 4. In a time of year when the Pats always dominate, November & December, they are 3-2 with 3 games left. Probably go 2-1, (though I wouldn’t be surprised with a clunker vs the Jets or the Bills) 5-3 in the 2nd half of the season spells a mediocre division winner and mediocre playoff team. You can enjoy the ride, but that hate to tell you, it’s gonna be a ****ty ride.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but it’s horrible drafting that has probably ended the Brady/Belichick Dynasty. The constant, perpetual trading of picks for future picks, when they need talent for the present, is what has brought down the dynasty.
Having 5 picks in the first 2 rounds in the 2018 draft, and coming away with 3 players, was a crime. And I knew it would hurt the team. And ignoring picking a future replacement for Brady, and a pass catching TE to help Gronk, and eventually replace him, when the draft was so deep in both areas, was a crime. It’s been going on for 5 years now as far as horrible drafting.
