As a mod, you really should be unbiased and not encourage the flame stoking.

It's ok to be upset at THAT loss without having others. Including you. Tell us that its emotional, or a personal attack.

Exactly what did he say that is flame stoking ? Maybe we should just give out 2h suspensions to everyone who lashes out instead. You know.. to calm them down.

The real shame is that this is the defense the BB has given to Brady at the end of his career. It is still absurd he drafted a RB with a first round pick when this D has so many holes.
Sure the coaching was bad and the defense was horrible, but Brady's gaffe at the end of the half cost them the game too. So many guys disappointed.

Having Gronk back there in jump ball situations is dumb. Sure, he’s tall, but he can’t move around very well and I don’t know that he’s able to jump that well anymore.

At any rate, this wasn’t even a jump ball scenario, so it makes absolutely no sense to have him as the last line of defense. That’s entirely on the coaches, namely Belichick. Ryan Tannehill wasn’t putting the ball 75 yards in the air.

Said in a less angry, eloquent way. Agreed completely.

It seems as though you’re moving the goalposts a bit. Your claim was that they’ve done it before, so that’s what I was responding to. I don’t believe they’ve ever done it aside from the ‘85 team, that’s all. From what I can remember the past 9 times have all included having the bye. Definitely all of the times in the BB/Brady era.
Moving what goal posts?

What is the debate?

Up by 5 with 7 seconds left, backed up at their own 25 yard line with a gimpy QB.

I’m sorry, but you’d take those odds every single time if you could.

To lose that scenario is completely unacceptable. It’s the definition of choke and embarrassment, which is where we’re at now sadly.

Agreed on all points but this is the what the pats D is though and what it has been for over a year. Sometimes they make a game winning pick and sometimes those lose like this.

Why not put a player whose job is to defend passes and make tackles back there instead of an offensive player? That's just an arrogant gimmick (Randy Moss got a pick that one time!) on an otherwise low percentage play that nearly got them earlier this season and bit them today.

Actually, they've used Gronk back there before and it's worked. They've used Gordon there as well.

It's probably been said 1000 times, but having Gronk back there for hail mary prevention was a huge mistake on the coaching staff's part. The hail mary/jump ball wasn't even an option with the Dolphin's having the ball at their own 30 yard line. You had to know it would be a short pass/lateral play and they should have had an actual DB with speed on the field.

Couldn’t agree more. If you can’t throw him a fade pass anymore in the end zone, why put him back there? I’ve been saying all season his secret problem is he can’t jump, although I think it’s gotten worse. He is just slower and less athletic now. Right when the broadcaster said Gronkowski was back there, I was thinking I’m glad the Hail Mary will probably come up way short.
it wasn't even a hail mary situation. Gronk being out there was nonsense.

Beat CHI, NY, BUF on the road.

This team is not as loaded as prior years but it doesn't mean they can't win the SB.

If they dont have to go to Kansas city and beat them for the second time in the season, or potentially BACK to Pitt on the road having (hypothetically) already lost to them then sure.

Pats need to win out and KC needs to drop 2 of their remaining 3 and we know that's not going to happen so if we get the #2 seed we will probably have to go to KC and win. That's a scary thought !

How does McCourty explain his cap hit if he’s getting subbed out for a TE on that play. Than again that’s a dumbass coaching move

This loss will likely come back to haunt us. Im not pleased, but we're all alive right now so chin up.

Now you're making sh** up. I never said the defense was fine today. But I guess that's all you can do when you've got nothing to add...
You said the only reason the defense was giving up scores was because of uncalled holding and that anyone who thought the defense was actually playing poorly was stupid.

True.

Also true that we aren't winning on the road, looking at the teams we would have to beat to do so.
They’re not beating the mediocre teams on the road, let alone the good ones. Add in the fact that they’d have to beat top teams 3-4 games in a row and it seems to be a daunting task ahead of them.

And yet you are here to make sure everyone else knows that you are ok with what just happened and that makes you better than us.
Sucks we lost the way we did, but it’s just a game. Relax.

Miami 1-7 on 3rd down. 1-7. 2 blocked punts near/in the RZ.

And they scored 35.

Embarrassing.
All they had to do was play their regular defense. No need for any stupid packages. BB trusted Brady and called a TO in the first half towards the end there but Brady played like Jackson in the end there.
So BB thinks Tannihill can throw 70 yards?
