Who made the call? Just so embarrassing.

Having Gronk back there in jump ball situations is dumb. Sure, he’s tall, but he can’t move around very well and I don’t know that he’s able to jump that well anymore.

At any rate, this wasn’t even a jump ball scenario, so it makes absolutely no sense to have him as the last line of defense. That’s entirely on the coaches, namely Belichick. Ryan Tannehill wasn’t putting the ball 75 yards in the air.

This team got smoked 3 times on the road and lost a nearly must win game today. How can you expect them to win 2 more on the road this year?

Because I still believe in BB.
And though diminished, I believe in TB12

The real shame is that this is the defense the BB has given to Brady at the end of his career. It is still absurd he drafted a RB with a first round pick when this D has so many holes.

Yea and then looks at brady like he isn't doing enough cause he didnt drop 4500 yards and make pro bowlers out of waiver wire talent.

Why tough? You never any ever under any circumstance want the pats D on the field if you need them to stop a game winning drive. They are completely and utterly unreliable and that much should have been clear since September of last year.
Up by 5 with 7 seconds left, backed up at their own 25 yard line with no timeouts and a gimpy QB.

I’m sorry, but you’d take those odds every single time if you could.

To lose that scenario is completely unacceptable. It’s the definition of choke and embarrassment, which is where we’re at now sadly.

We need like an entire new defensive backfield except for Chung and Gilmore

Are they looking as polished this year at this time as we’re used to? No.

Do they have a realistic chance at going 12-4 and finishing with a first-round bye? Yes.

Have they already beaten the only other team above them? Yes.

I’m not saying I’m looking forward to going into KC if that indeed happens, but if it did, it would be for a shot at another Super Bowl. I’m still willing to bet that the team would be a little more well-prepared for that one, and we already know there’s not some monumental talent disparity preventing them from winning since they’ve already beaten KC once.

I’ll keep betting on BB and Brady. Sometimes they screw up but overall it’s been a pretty safe bet for the last two decades, lol.

Pats are in the driver's seed for the 2 seed, and they will get it as long as the win in Pittsburgh next week. As far as the 1 seed is concerned, they are fighting both the Chiefs and Chargers for it and both of them will most likely have better records than NE when all is said and done.

How does failing to throw the ball away on 3rd down potentially cost 7 points?

Because they could have gone for it on 4th down since there was zero chance of Miami getting the ball back at that point. It's called being aggressive.

Even if you only say it cost them 3, it's still means it cost them the game as well since those 3 would have been enough for the win.

Belichick saw enough of a need there to trade for Shelton, who's been so bad that he was a healthy scratch today. We just don't have competent run-stopping personnel, even average teams can reliably run on us. It's a fatal flaw.

I’m a big BB supporter in his offseason moves but this year was a total failure. It happens from time to time, can’t be de facto GM for almost 2 decades and not whiff a few years. Sucks that it had to happen at the end of Brady’s career with this upcoming offseason looking awful in terms of ability to retool

Who said they have lost the bye? 3 games to play. They've had the bye and not made it too

12-4 is usually good for a bye. Can we beat Pittsburgh? Idk. If we do I feel good about our chances still.

The 2 seed will probably produce a similar result to 2013, 2015, unfortunately.

If they signed the Cameraman at half time like I suggested they would have made the tackle. (I have supreme confidence he would not have tripped having no equipment on him)

True.

Also true that we aren't winning on the road, looking at the teams we would have to beat to do so.

This is a repeat of the 2015 Miami game, albeit the loss came in a different fashion. Regardless, this Miami trip will have cost us crucial HFA throughout.

IF this team gets to play in the AFCCG, it is all but guaranteed they'll end up going to KC which equates to going to Denver in 2015. They stand no chance there not with this defense against KC's offense.

You can stick a fork in this season. At the end of the day, this team's only shot to get to the big game was HFA throughout (defense doesn't know how to travel), which is all but a done deal not to happen - because of yet another annual **** performance in Miami.

Ya. Whis arguing antrhijg other than what a terrible effort that was.

As long as it's ok to ask other posters to leave for saying things we dont agree with, you should prolly get out of here now. It's only gonna get harder in you surrounding your self with all us entitled folk.
At first I thought you were having stroke....

Agree, but they had fast defensive players on the field who made little effort.

It wasn't about effort, it was about formation. Everything about that play was screwed up from the start. Gronk on the field despite there clearly being no threat of a Hail Mary, and then the defense in relatively normal spacing instead of having multiple guys just guarding the last 10 yards.

NE spent the whole day trying to lose, so they got what they deserved.
