Patriots/Brady record going to Miami for season sweep

Not trying to rain on the parade, but this game has made me anxious for months. The first thing I look for when the schedule comes out is if the Patriots play in Miami first.

When winning the first game at home, they are 1-6 in Miami in the rematch. What’s really strange is that most of these Dolphins teams haven’t even been good and are often essentially out of playoff contention. I just can’t figure out why Brady and the coaching staff consistently play their absolute worst time after time, especially since they’ve usually manhandled the Dolphins early season at Gillette. Is it the humidity? What is the reason and how can the Patriots reverse this? Because this is a loss they really can’t afford. If they lose to a team like Pittsburgh, so be it. But they’ve now beaten every good team they’ve faced and lost to the Jaguars, Lions, and Titans, three teams that are below average, all on the road.

2004: Dolphins 29, Patriots 28
2006: Dolphins 20, Patriots 0 (stolen audio game)
2009: Dolphins 22, Patriots 21
2013: Dolphins 24, Patriots 20
2015: Dolphins 20, Patriots 10
2016: Patriots 35, Dolphins 14 (Matt Moore)
2017: Dolphins 27, Patriots 20

A Dolphin team that will be desperate, and a Patriot team maybe looking towards the Pittsburgh game, I can see where you're getting at as far as being concerned about this game. BUT, this is a tshirt and hat game, I can't see the Pats not having focus on this game. This is one of the few Pat's/Dolphin's games I'm oddly calm about. I see a 7-10 point win. Hopefully I'm not wrong.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't think the Patriots will be overlooking the Dolphins. How could they considering their recurring nightmares playing in Miami? If anything, it seems like they come out with an over analyzed game plan because they are psyched out playing there.

I would hope after last season they do not look past a game in Miami again.

Will never forget at the time watching MNF in 2004 vs MIA, holding my 2 week old daughter who had been in the ICU for a couple of weeks and just brought her home that day (she's in 8th grade now).

She was asleep in my arms but woke up when I yelled at the TV after Tom threw what was THE WORST interception of his career.

Pats in MIA = Bad.

I cannot for the life of me figure it out either....

But think we need to play mistake free when we come out flat. And keep the deficit one score or less at half time, IMO.

Ugh, I can't stand the flaming Pats hater Fouts. Eagle sucks too.View attachment 21853

The thing I can’t stand the most about them is that they openly root against the Patriots when they’re just supposed to be unbiased commentators that help hype the game and fill it with narrative

They don’t even try to hide their hatred of the Patriots, it shows throughout the entire broadcast

Yeah, the Moore thing was probably unnecessary. That 2016 was going to curb stomp the Dolphins no matter who was at QB. Just pointing out, though, that (a) it took a super team playing at its peak, and (b) it was the Dolphins backup quarterback. The Patriots certainly can win in Miami, but I still think it's getting to be beyond a statistical aberration of losing and there's more to it. The very odd thing is that Miami isn't known for having a big homefield advantage, unlike Denver, and in addition there are lots of other reasons why Denver gave the Patriots trouble (Shannahan, Manning, etc.) The Dolphins have just beaten us there with crap teams and crap QBs for some bizarre reason.
Think I gotta disagree here.

Look at some of the Dolphins wins they’ve had over the last several years. Notice how they’ve often somehow found a way to a flukey start of 4-2 or so?

They have a knack of winning early season games in ugly fashion. This is no coincidence. Teams go down and play ugly football in that September Miami heat. The Bears game earlier this year was a great example of this.

I agree. For me, this goes back to the mid to late 90's when they were loaded on defense. Factor in the humidity and heat and it was nearly impossible beating them in September.

Xavian Howard being out should be a big boost for the Pats.

Its going to be a weird game. On the road where the Pats have struggled this season, in Miami, Miami has playoff contention to play for, and the game is sandwiched in between two huge games. I expect a lot of uncharacteristic self-inflicted errors and a tight contest. Just get out of there with the dub. Anything else is gravy.

Yeah, I am expecting a game like the last game at the Jets. Crazy tight, nervous and coming down to a few 4th quarter plays.

That game was really frustrating. Couldn't believe they blew a 28-17 lead with 4 minutes to play. It was annoying watching Jay Feely dancing around the field when they took the lead. And those orange uniforms were painful to look at.

You BETTER stay away, or I'll sic one of @SammyBlueCat 's proteges on you. He'll stop you from attending with his cat-like quickness... or, quite frankly...

I think earlier in the same year(?) he threw a TD pass literally sitting on his butt. Maybe he thought he could do the same thing being sacked. Who knows? Horrific INT for sure.

On the bright side, I think that game made the Patriots decide to pick up Welker.

I think he did that vs CIN or SF in 04
