What started the rulel was the hit on carson palmer by kimo von olhofen in a play off game, not the hit on brady that kncoked him out in 0'11. But i always here that it was the hit on TB that resulted in penalty for hitting a qb low.
Jets made the right decision. Odds of converting 3rd and 12 is much lower than the odds of converting 4th and 2. Just didn't work out, but that's football.

I just disagree with that type of play qualifying as a foul, and certainly the officials have some autonomy in that situation as to whether they want to call that.
