Half the time it looks like he is pulling a piano, maybe it is his hammy but I haven't seen much explosion. For such a super freak he has looked more like a big slow WR. Is he still getting in shape? injured? Can we expect to see the ability to separate?

I'm very fine with where Gordon is at. Getting speed back is difficult, and I'd love for him to get a quick step, but itsi great to know that he's a guy who, even down the road when his tangibles start to take a backseat, he has the IQ and effort to make stuff happen. ThatsT what makes a great player in any sport.

And freakish measurables, yes.

He's in an adjustment period, his conditioning regimen was thrown off when he had to give up 12 ounce curls. I can empathize, my body just wasn't right when I gave them up and I struggled mightily. Looking back now on the time I gave up drinking I can honestly say those were among the toughest hours of my life.

The better question is when will Gordon be completely comfortable with the playbook? Right now he looks great as long as Brady gets him the ball. He may not know the playbook fully until start of next season, but for now he is the least of my worries.

I think he’s in shape now. He’s just slower than before. I also think I figured out why brady locks in on Gordon, he’s not running the right routes, he’s just running out there

What we see is what we’re getting with Gordon. I’m not complaining though because it could be worse.... a lot worse.

(Who knows what goes on down in Cleveland these days)

Sadness, sadness goes down in Cleveland these days. They have a place there that makes it. The Browns call it First Energy Stadium but the fans know it as The Factory of Sadness. It's like hell but for football fans. As in "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here"

Keep in mind that he did not participate in our training camp.

He also didn't show up to Browns training camp until late and was clearly not conditioning himself physically during the offseason. He seems to have been in rehab again early in the offseason.

The fact he's already so effective in this offense is telling. If he stays clean, he's going to be an unstoppable force of nature with a full year in the system and decent conditioning under his belt. He's still several years from 30 and doesn't have much physical wear on his body.

I'll also say Gordon's ability is most evident in how he wins at the line of scrimmage, which is where the best receivers win. He has sick moves there. Give credit to Adoree Jackson, who was the first defensive back I've seen who didn't lose to Gordon one second after the snap. He can lope after that. His route usually has him in position, and he has that Mosslike ability to kick into a fifth gear when the ball is in the air (as well as body control I've only seen in my lifetime in Rice, Moss, and Calvin Johnson).

When BB let's Guerrero take over lol

My worries with him is that he might return to his bad habits. For his sake I hope not.

I think that you idea of CLE is outdated. They have a team that cares and is playing well. They have lots of really good young players, and they have a QB for the first time in decades. The thought is that lots of top potential coaches will want the job for 2019, perhaps including our Josh.

"Next season" I certainly hope so, along with another year of sobriety.. not sure the Pats will be able to afford him, and thanks to their effort his value has skyrocketed..

He's a restricted free agent and the Patriots will assuredly give him the high tender. Given that he's one misstep from a ban, I kind of doubt other teams will be falling over themselves to give up a 1st rounder and a big contract.

Now that he is in a very stable environment with very low staff turnover and with Easterby always available and a call away, I would say we can be optimistic.

The offseason is another story, however.

My idea of Cleveland should be outdated, therein lies the rub. Out here in the real world results matter. Most of what you say is true, the lion's share of indicators are indeed pointing up. That was also true in Jax this year. How's that working out? Haslam has shown an absolute 'talent' for snatching disaster from the jaws of delight. At the end of the day we are still talking about his Brownies, they are going to have to actually do well and do it over the course of a few seasons before I believe it. In any case, my response was made to Sammy's post in reference to what went down when Gordon was there. Jackson & Haley run out of town on rails more than justifies my thinking. Here in New England we have become so accustomed to institutional excellence that we discount it's value, in places like Cleveland and Jax the opposite is the case. and has been for some time.

I don't think it will be about the money. Will he find another environment which he knows he can stay clean. Is there another team which has the QB/Coach tandem that he currently has? That combo has meaning beyond passes and TD's. I don't see him jumping ship to sign for more money.

He has two 50+ yard pass plays. Really?

He "looks" is not very scientific.
