Gronk looks like a guy who's barely a weapon right now, you can see why Bill had agreed to trade him because it looks like all the injuries are catching up to him.

You also need someone else in here who can run the ball, if Michel gets dinged or god forbid hurt you can't have Patterson getting carries in December/January.

Barner is a special teams player, you need someone who can pound it for 4 yards.

3. OL - Another good pass blocking night for them.

What? Brady was under pressure all night. Credit due to the Bills D but the O-line didn't exactly cover themselves in glory in this game.
Well said....OL especially Waddle were awful last night....amazing that the GOAT didn’t get killed!!!

They need to sign another big time WR and RB ....Gronk may be fine if they can just rest him....but his contract is now incentive laden isn’t it so he basically has to play...but right now with ankle and back injuries he looks slow, hesitant and shadow of the usual Gronk

Nice summary, very solid. Hope your doctor's appointment turns out well, but in the aftermath if you have the time and inclination after watching some replays, perhaps you could lend some insight to a play that particularly caught my attention.

On the sole reception that James Develin caught after which he bulldozed the two defenders, both defenders egregiously led with their helmets and made contact with Develin's helmet. One of the defenders I think went to the sidelines after the hit. So where were the flags, or am I still confused as to the helmet to helmet rule?

Once the preseason is over they only give that rule lip service.

5. Receivers - Gronk made one of those catches that make you go WOW!, but for most of the game he seemed unusually out of sync with Brady. I wonder when the last time Brady threw to Gronk 8 times and only got 3 receptions out of it.

Yeah, because Brady was under heavy pressure all night.

The pressure was significant but it did appear (and was pointed out by Witten who's usually a dubious source but he WAS a tight end) that Gronk was having trouble separating.

I think gronk just needs a couple more rest weeks. I really wish theyd have sat him tonight or the colts Thursday night game - if theres ever a game we dont need to be concerned with its the colts at home.

Also, how did John Simon do? I don't know if he was 100% or not from his injury, but curious to see what role he can play.

Only 13 snaps (20%). Easing back in, I presume, but he also played 13 snaps on ST (46%).

Anyway, Simon had a couple tackles and it looked to me like he should have gotten half-credit on one of the Pats' sacks, but it wasn't scored that way. In just 38 D-snaps so far (about 1/2 a game's worth) he has 8 tackles and a sack. Seems like he could continue to be useful.

3. Pass blocking was actually really bad. Brown and Waddle were spinning around all night. There were pressures up the middle. Brady was dancing and throwing off his back foot all night.

On the field performance, are they content with that?? Very little chance of winning anything with him as QB....

I would think that if your team has to pick a guy off the street to be the starting QB in week 8, winning might not be on the menu regardless of who you sign. IMO.

Now, what worries me is the fact that the Packers have a better defense than the Bill and statistically a better offense than the Patriots.

That Brady will get 30 wins against Buffalo baffles me.

I'm not too worried about the Packers. The Bills were playing in their Super Bowl. There's no hot rivalry with the Packers so I expect the Pats to do better.

Was it just me or did Brady’s throwing motion seem very off for most of the game? I was wondering aloud if he might be hurt or just feeling some pain. I know he was under pressure a fair amount but he was making those throwing motions even without pressure. It just seemed odd to me.

He did take a big hit with that block of his.

The Packers do not have, in any way shape or form, a statistically better offense than the Pats

I don't think that the Bills picked up Anderson with any idea that he'd be starting. As someone noted earlier, McDermott and Daboll have both spent extensive time working with Anderson on other teams - the thought being that they felt comfortable bringing him in as a mentor to Allen. And then, Allen got hurt.

IDK. It seemed to me that he was throwing frequent laser-guided fastballs well into Q4. Maybe he's been working on something, technique-wise. Then, too, the Bills defense was creating some very tight windows.

OTOH, some of his touch passes seemed a bit off, as did his footwork from time-to-time when he was moving around the pocket.
