Sony Michel Injury (update: Expected to Play Week 10 vs Titans)

Holley had a bit where some player said what the Pats needed was to get their swagger back and it ticked BB off. Something like that. Think it was Pass?

Really unimportant.

Thank goodness we played in grass. I can only imagine the outcome if that tackle occurred at Gillette.
Sounds good, but his foot was (thankfully) off the ground. In other words, his left foot was in the air. Is the air different above field turf as opposed to above grass?

I didn’t watch too many replays but from what I saw the defender applied enough force to push his cleats through the grass and off of it. If it was field turf the cleats may have stayed planted.

I know a guy who could expedite his recovery.

In a way I like it when a key player misses some regular season games due to relatively minor injury. I feel like it increases the chances they will be available for playoffs.

What team have you been watching?
review his runs...most of his larger gains have been because of huge wholes opened for him. When he gets into the secondary, he has no elusiveness and no second gear. He did have a nice stiff arm on a TD run. Maybe its his knee problem hampering him, but with his latest injury, not going to get any better any time soon.

Rewatch last weeks game and key on him, then tell us what you think.

You are wrong.

I don't understand the hate for Sony Michel. He has been playing really well lately.

This latest injury is a setback to his development because he was finally coming into his own as the Pats #1 RB. Hopefully he can come back in a few weeks. We'll have to wait and see. If Sony Michel can come back healthy, we can run the football effectively and that will become even more important as the postseason approaches.

I don’t think “finally” belongs in your post as his success started in the second half of his first nfl game, our 2nd of the season.

Showing as much promise as you could hope for out of a late 1st round RB. Was on his way to having a great rookie season - statistically AND carving out his role as the lead dog coming out the backfield. Not understanding the Michel bashing at all. Minor gripe is his lack of use in passing game (thats more on coaching )

I do find it a little intresting that his best runs usually come with develin on the field leading the way. Not a knock at all. I would like to see him make some big runs w.o the lead block eventually...talent is there.

With Michel’s injury being of the “week to week” variety, my guess is the Patriots will promote Kenneth Farrow to the 53 before next Monday’s game and not make a bigger move.

My guess for the offset transaction is Eric Rowe and his re-injured groin heading to the IR.

I wish coaches did healthy scratches the way the MLB has a rotation for pitchers. There is no reason to play these guys every week if it means hobbling into the playoffs. Honestly, by the midpoint of the season having a guy on the field for 6-7 games rather than 8 means he is significantly fresher than the competition.
