Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Bears

To me this looks like Pats D was the most consistent unit of the complementary football making up for ST and O blunders as well as they could under circumstances.

When they start to strategize on defense, I bet they'll actually be good.
Can you elaborate a bit? You’re suggesting that they haven’t been strategizing almost halfway into the season?

Previous games 70.2% completion rate.

Against Pats 52% completion rate. Pressured all game long..

But yeah. He was crap regardless of pressure.

More Deus "wisdom" because he's always right and never wrong.
I stopped buying into Deus' "wisdom" after I realized how ignorant that poster can be. I usually skip over the posts because reading them is beneath me.

If his argument is that Trubisky made some poor throws and had some mental errors without pressure, then he’s probably correct. The pressure technique was an effective one, but Trubisky wasn’t as good as I expected him to be when he had time, either.

Trubisky was trash when passing the ball. While there was pressure on him throughout the game, a good QB should be able to deliver a semi-accurate ball to open receivers.

He had multiple chances to make the Patriots pay when he had time. He failed most of the time by under or overthrowing a receiver who had clearly beat a Pats DB. If he hits on one of those plays we have an actual ball game.

Funny thing is he has been pretty good the last few games. 9 tds I believe, didn’t see anything today besides his running ability to believe he was as good as his last 3 games.

A good chunk of what was happening out there when Pats were on D felt similar to the Jaguars game. Difference being, Trubisky couldn’t hit the throws that Bortles did, and the pressure today seemed to be a bit more consistent in pushing him out of the pocket.

Yeah, it was actually 9 TDs in the last two games, and both of those games had completion rates over 70% and yardage over 300, with rushing totals of 53 and 47.

He was looking like he could be growing into the real deal. Not as sure after today. I came away feeling unimpressed, although the framework is certainly there as long as he can continue to gain yards on the ground and give himself more options.

I really want to believe it was a story of the Pats impacting Trubisky. Some of it may have been, but it felt like he just wasn't hitting on throws he should have been.

Shout out to James White for continuing to kill it out there. He is also running the ball better than he ever has in addition to his stellar receiving game.

You could argue that he is currently the most indispensable offensive weapon on this team. This season the offense has run through him

If I'm an opposing defense, I focus of stifling that connection and take away the easy first downs.

Defense still has trouble stopping tightends and receiving backs. Was very encouraged to see them keep Cohen at bay for long stretches. Perhaps a sign of things to come (improvement).

The good news? Tight end play has been pretty poor across the board in the NFL. I think weve played the 2 best tightends we will play all reg season in kelece and Burton. Might not be a fatal flaw....this season at least.

Buffalo has one of the worst offenses, if not the worst offense, in the NFL this year. They average a little more than 11 points per game. I wonder how many points our defense will give up next week.

This is some next level homer mental gymnastics.

I'm amazed at the excuses people have for this defense. It's incredible.

That is an absolutely valid point, just like you should not credit the offense for the two special team scores.

I don't think its fair to subtract 100% of the points from a score because they were scored by the defense or STs.

Given two more chances with the ball, what are the odds that Brady and Company would have came away with points?

When a defense or STs scores it simply guarantees a team those points, in this case 14 points. However, with Brady I'm positive we would have come away with something, if not the whole 14.

Maybe assign them the average points per drive.

I think the biggest problem when Defences come up against him is working out who to put on him.. he beats the majority of LBs with ease and I also fancy him against a some Corners as well!

the playbook on NYJFL network/nfl.com highlighted Tribusky not projecting the open man and making the wrong read and throw. He did the same thing a few times in this game.

Bortles did not get nearly the same pressure Mahomes and Trubisky got.

I haven't re watched it but it looked like he was trying to catch it. It also looked like he had a 48 inch vertical leap. haha
It's cool, I don't really care. Just posted it as info since some people on here were debating it.
