Fire our Kick Off Coach

Special teams is definitely not a team strength this season.

We could have taken the same approach on multiple levels after the first few games. Michel would have been traded for a 7th rounder, for example. Patience and hard work should get things back on track, as we are routinely a quality ST unit.

Execution is necessary here (yes, it’s intended to be written that way)

It used to be... I felt great about it for the last 3 years. Last night : through the endzone.

I think this could have been corrected after the first kickoff.

Might have been worth a try, but after a couple failures, you'd think 25 yards would be safest. Or, we wanted to make sure we won the TOP battle.

Slater got blocked. He was in position to make an early tackle. The only way the ST coach is at fault is if he tells the edge guys not to hold their edge.

What was the plan with the short kick off early in the game?

(I presume this thread is mostly about the long KC return)

BB could decide to kick it through the endzone if/until the unit improves.

Should not overlook the ST players we lost from last year.

Brandon Bolden seems like it would've been a good signing. Help with ST and RB depth.

The kickoffs are terrible decisions. They should have tried onside kicks multiple times this year when kicking off from midfield. It's frustrating they don't just try them, since they have a 50% success rate when unexpected, and stupid squib kicks give teams the ball at midfield regardless.

Something else that sucks about "the new NFL" is that field position and turnovers seem to matter much, much less than they used to because of all the scoring. The early Patriots dynasty teams used to win in a completely different fashion, which was not making costly mistakes and winning the field position battle; it was more of a chess match. Teams have a huge margin of error now to win games. It's often just decided by who has the ball last or a couple of field goals instead of touchdowns. The league really sucks. It's like drinking Coke after drinking Diet Coke for years.

He was blocked in the back which is ordinarily, you know, considered a penalty.

Just sayin

And just why should they fire Joe Judge.

- The long return should have been called back because Zombo blocked Slater in the back.
- The 2 kicks that didn't go into the end zone and the squib kick are all calls made by Belichick.
