I don't believe they have the horses to do it. DL was moved 3 yds backwards all night. No proven pass rusher outside of Flowers, and no playmakers in the secondary outside of Gilmore.

The offense is the least of my concerns

I think the offense will be ok. They just have to find ways to get our guys open because none of them can get any separation. Plus they have to stop forcing it to Sony, I can’t get over how stubborn the play calling has been. We’ve basically have lost the games in the 1st qts because of our run execution. They can’t run block at all.

LOL a blind ******ed squirrel could look into a crystal ball and predict Jordan freakin Matthews and Kenny freakin Britt, two oft injured jouneymen receivers, wouldn’t even come close to filling Cooks shoes.

Apparently you bought in and drank the cool-aid...

Get the pink hat off, it’s devouring your brain of oxygen.

You called it in the Offseason Todd... the Jim Jones or BB cool-aid.

We lost to a terrible browns team during mangini days. Sh*t happens. Doesnt hide their defensive woes though. 3rd down defense is an issue for ages now.

3rd down defense is merely a symptom of the larger problem of no playmakers on the defense.

I can understand if you wish Cooks was still here. That's understandable. But we traded pick #32 for him, used him for a year, then traded him for pick #23. That is not a peanuts return, even if we had zero WRs on the roster at the time of the trade.

Anytime. Just next time just admit you may have been wrong once. Aint gonna kill you.
I was wrong about my own personal feeing of the Cooks trade being peanuts? Ahh that’s interesting.

Try harder on putting an examination point on your argument, because that was weak as the rest of your posts.

The mods should relax the rules when this team reaches a new low of being manhandled by the Detroit freaking Lions.

I spoke out about the mods, and the change in rules around here, a while back. It did no good. I feel confident I can assure you that your complaints will fall on ears that are even more deaf.

The part about tonight that surprised me the most was, like last week, the total lack of urgency and the play calling on offense when there was still half the final quarter left.

Never thought I’d see a 21st century NE team give up with half the final quarter left, let alone doing it two weeks in a row.

That is very odd...and disturbing.

The players don’t appear as invested. What’s worse is many are new and they are getting used to losing. Don’t worry though, Belichick will save the day.

Not as worried about the O, but I'm getting there. The D has absolutely nobody. Sign somebody off the street and bench Hightower. And replace Brown or Shelton with Valentine.

Hightower is d o n e.

Yeah, the Pats screwed a lot of things up this offseason but trading Cooks wasn't one of them.

The decisions made at WR are understandable, even with how poorly they worked out. The overall offseason strategy of relying so heavily on retread WR (Britt, Matthews, Patterson) was risky. The over reliance on Edelman and Hightower to not only be healthy but back to their prime selves was risky. Hoping career mediocrities Shelton and Clayborn woukd stabilize the DL was outright bad judgment. Not actually improving the LB corps other than 5th round long shots was outright negligent

This team badly needed an infusion of athleticism and upside in the front 7 and BB chose to draft a RB and OL on the 1st round. Very curious and it's looking to be his worst offseason of his career. Nothing he can do about it now but it's a shame to fail so spectacularly in roster management in Brady's waning years.

Brown and Shelton are the players that disappoint me. I don't recall them getting a good push at all tonight. There play dictated the whole game defensively in my eyes.

The thing that perplexes me is how could they watch Hightower every day and think he still belongs on the field. Anybody who has watched these 3 games can see he offered nothing and is a massive liability.

He reminds me of Ted Johnson without the ability to stand up an OL.

You would like to think it was coming back from injury, but he had a pec injury. His chronic knee problems though look terminal.
