I think he could get signed off the PS any week. But if he sticks long enough maybe he could be this year's Dorsett and hang around and learn for next year. Or even late in the season.

Agreed. If we have room.I think if he developes to the point another team would poach him, he'll be called up to our active roster before then.
Thing is, other teams aren’t gonna see his development on our practice squad. So unless the have inside information, as far as they know he’s still the same guy who got cut/traded 3 times in a 2 month span.I think if he developes to the point another team would poach him, he'll be called up to our active roster before then.
This is true, but He's a former first round draft pick and later in the year there'll be limited options for teams getting struck by injuries at wr. Plus, probably much less impactful, his agent should be trying to get him on an active roster and players and personnel are going to talk a bit.Thing is, other teams aren’t gonna see his development on our practice squad. Very very true. Makes sense to learn here, earn himself a decent role next year and then get a respectable contract (or maybe even a really good one if he looks good) in 2020. Not sure if it’s worth the risk going somewhere else mid-season this year and trying to learn their system for no more money anyway... I suppose he could showcase himself on that team next year but he could just as well do that here too and there’ll be a lot more eyes on him here than elsewhere. I’m cautiously optimistic. It doesn’t make any difference financially since anything he gets paid is just offsetting his guaranteed money from the Bills, so it may make sense for him to stick around knowing that Hogan, Dorsett, and Patterson are headed to free agency. His pay for the next two years is basically locked in, so it’s all about what gives him the best payday in 2020.
Would ps pay be offset by the bills paycheck? It doesn’t make any difference financially since anything he gets paid is just offsetting his guaranteed money from the Bills, so it may make sense for him to stick around knowing that Hogan, Dorsett, and Patterson are headed to free agency. Can’t believe we chose Elandon Roberts over Grugier Hill...
Awful

We're definitely on the same page! I'm optimistic.I love it. I was speculating a few days back in a post that they might get him onto the practice squad here. He is young, has great speed and now has all the time in the world to learn the playbook. If Edelman, Hogan or Dorsett get injured later in the season we have great depth right on the PS.
The absolute best case would be to keep him around for next year's camp via futures contract once the season ends. I would love to see what Coleman can do in camp if he starts with an exact knowledge of the system.
But I guess that is all way too much optimism.

How often does a former 1st round pick end up on a practice squad? Seems like a rarity.
Coleman is already on our PSOn Tuesday, the Pats filled the vacancy created by McCarron's move to IR with Billingsley, eventhough Coleman had already been cleared waivers at that point (I think). The Pats may still be working on selling Coleman and his agent on the idea that staying with the Pats' organization - even on the PS - would be good for him.
Or, it could be that the Pats really weren't impressed by what Coleman brought during the six days (three practices) that they had him.
One might think that reading posts on this message board and listening to the hysterics on Sportstalk Radio that BB is the only Coach in the NFL who does not know how to draft...
Coleman is already on our PS
As is Billingsly.
