It's a trade that's all about potential problems, and comes with a very high likelihood of failure.

And I'm absolutely fine with that. If he craps out, it will still have been worth the try, IMO.

Yeah, agreed. I'm eager to see what the Pats give up to get him, if it's a late-round pick then I think it's totally worth it considering that we'd basically be getting him for the rest of the year at something like $700K nonguaranteed. At that price tag you just cut him if he's a jackass and don't even sweat it.

When people brought up Gordon here in the past, I was pretty firmly against it, but that was largely based on the reported price that it would take to get him and the risk of having an addict who's one positive from an outright ban. Those are still concerns, and any trade needs to be made with the assumption that he's as likely to give you nothing but a headache as any actual performance on the field. But as long as that's priced into what the Pats give up for him I love it as an upside move.

Gronk - Gordon and Edelman you can't Double all of them and you are doomed in Man or Zone coverage.

Exactly. He’s more than just a burner. He can run routes and settle in zones from what I remember. He’s a larger, stronger AB in reality, and he won't back down from the Ramseys of the world.

That leaves all the RBs single covered.
