Has or had? Who knows what he is right now??

We need reliable injury depth. Right now Patterson is that wild card weapon which is what Gordon would be if he came here. I'll stick with Patterson.

Well in the short time he came back he looked like the old josh gordon. Patterson hasn’t lived up to the expectations since he got drafted. He can make a catch here or there but what they need is production. I would hope dorsett becomes something but the guy’s still inconsistent.

Andy, I'm not saying we should trade for Gordon but I don't agree with your thought that we shouldn't bother wasting the time simply because he might not be around for the playoffs.

Well, going by the last 5 seasons, Gronk has only a 60% chance of being healthy for the playoffs. Should we not feed the ball to our best skill player and have him help us win games?
Are you seriously making that comparison?
Any player can get injured.
Few players, with 100% health, participate in 10 games in 4 years.
Gordon didn’t even attend camp because he needed to be away from football because he was involved in a child custody case.

Let’s say we traded for him in the off season.
Then when camp started he decided to not report because football means so much to him he doesn’t want to have it distract him from being involved in a child custody case.
So sometime after preseason game 3 he shows up.
Do you think he would be on this roster?
Because that is what he did to the team that believed in him while he played 10 games in 4 years.

Comparing him to gronk is embarrassing.

Patriots claim a couple of JAG WRs

Tbh I do like Hansen. Darboh can catch but his route running doesn't really jump off the screen at you... I'm a bigger fan of Hansen at the moment but I think both of them have the potential to be a serviceable fourth WR.

I'm not comparing him to Gronk the player, I'm comparing the idea that we shouldn't waste the time implementing a guy into the offense if he might not be around come playoff time. Well, winning in the playoffs will be easier at Foxboro, and it takes a lot of regular season wins to get homefield. Winning isn't easy. So no, I don't think it's a waste of time having a guy help you win games in September, October and November, even if it's likely he won't still be around in December.

The gm that drafted darboh praises him as a route runner

I disagree.
That’s just not what you build a team around IMO.
I’m not benching the guy I need in January and February because the guy who can’t care enough about football to stop smoking weed or skip camp because he is sad that he has a custody case going on has some skill.
That just defeats the purpose of how you are supposed to build a team.

Again if we had traded for Gordon in the offseason and he skipped camp because he was too sad over a custody case do you think he would be here still?

That is what he evolved to.

But that’s the point. You are building an offense. If you make a guy part of it who gots away in November you are in worse shape than if you never used him.
He takes someone’s playing time, he changes play calling, usage if other weapons, many things.
Do you think Brady could have done what he did in the Sb without Edelman if Edelman has been there all year then removed?

To trade a player he had to be more valuable to the other team.
Why in the world would Cleveland trade him for a 5th or 6th?
You act like a team can't add players now or during the year. Thats not reality. Football teams aren't static. We all know the Pats aren't.

I understand the fascination with Gordan but he isn't reliable at all. I know what we have and am comfortable with the current WR corp. What we need is reliable depth that can come in and get familiar with the offense in case of injury.

I'm all for getting a freak of nature wild card on the roster but we already have that in Patterson.

Gordan is a huge risk. If that guy even smells like he walked ten feet from a roach he's gone forever.

3 punt returns for the first guy in college, zero for the second. I guess it's Burkhead or bust. Not really thrilled about Chung there.

Burkhead is a banana. 3 carries and 3 weeks on the trainer’s table.

We really need a plan b that does not start with Chung.

I was a huge fan of Amara Darboh last year. I hope he sticks.

Hansen plays much bigger than his size. I am shocked that he was cut, honestly. He could develop here over time. Skilled receiver.

Great moves!

He probably wouldn't be here if that's what happened, you're right. And again, I'm not saying we SHOULD trade for him. But I also wouldn't call it a bad decision if we landed him for a 2020 conditional 7th rounder (you said you wouldn't offer anything for him) and it meant we had to waive Amara Darboh.

Bb loves guys with great moves that can get open. Should be a good fit for us if he has a chance to prove his worth.
