Jalen Ramsey thinks Gronk is overrated

“I don’t think Gronk’s good,” Rasmey tells Mina Kimes regarding Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. “Let me say — I don’t think Gronk is as great as people think he is.”
Ramsey went on to explain to Kimes that the numbers back up the assessment.

“Any time Gronk has been matched up with a corner, he’s had a very bad game,” Ramsey said, “and that corner has had a very good game.”

Can’t wait for week 2 when Gronk throws him out of the club...

So, if a defense dedicates a CB to Gronk, the team doesn't throw to him. I wonder who is covering the other receivers? Safeties on WRs, LBs on WRs? Putting a corner on Gronk creates a mismatch elsewhere. I wonder if it is more that Brady decides to throw to the other mismtach.

How many other TEs in the league require a CB to cover them?

I doubt Jalen Ramsey is capable of anaylzing “the numbers.” More likely one of his coaches put that into his brain in preparation for week 2 just to boost his confidence. So we now know that Ramsey will be covering Gronk one-on-one. Let’s see how that turns out.

The league changed its policy a couple of years ago with regard to Gronk. He
was much too successful and it was a man against little boys situation. The NFL
decided it was OK if the defensive player grabbed him at the line of scrimmage
and held on down the field. If Gronk touched the defensive player ever so slightly.
it was offensive pass interference.

It’s a waste of time debunking his comment but Gronk had 2 TDs & a handful of receptions on Ronald Darby (CB1 of a top 5 defense).
